My son had a one week period of paperwork after graduation and then started the next week. He moved to the new base across town where his school is the day of graduation.

my son is at great lakes waiting to get into A school, how long do you have to wait to get into A school at great lakes after boot camp graduation, does anyone know?

One other comment for JulieM. Perhaps it depends on the sailor's rating/job, but my sailor also has to go through ATT school prior to starting A school. He was PIR 9/19/14. He had one week of Indoc followed by one week of hold before starting ATT school. Also, ATT school started mid to late week instead of on a Monday:-).

Got it!

Thanks.  Got the link for the graduations?  The RTC one only goes into November.  There are several folks saying their graduation is the 19th, so I'd love a link to help them out if they are just guessing.

(I thought none the 26th and the 2nd).

Comment by Anti M on October 9, 2014 at 11:58am

Pollux, I'd heard the dates, but not that they are official.

I;d say don;t book a flight before noon.  They're checking out thousands of students.

If they are graduating on the 19th, they should go straight home for the stand down.  That's what has been done the last few years.

Comment by Logan's Mom on October 9, 2014 at 11:56am

Pollux would you or anyone know where the ATF/IC  SR's usually get stationed at after completion of A School? I talked to my father & he thought Japan, but of course he's retired Army...
