Hi Michigan moms.  I know I haven't been here in a long time,  but have been following.  It has been a tough couple of years with my son gone,  him getting married,  his wife causing family drama.  But all is mending now.  My son has completed 4 out of his 5 years as a Seabee and has re-enlisted after cross rating to an AME. A whole new world for the whole family.  DIL and 2 grandchildren will stay with us while son does A school. Her stay may end up being 6 months as she,  at this time, doesn't want to have to find a 3rd ob as she is due again at the end of April. I will just be happy to have my son home for Thanksgiving as it has been 4 years since that has happened.

Lorraine,  I am glad to hear Scott is doing so well.

Welcome to all the new moms.

Lorraine, I know it sounds crazy, but I really don't want to go to Hawaii.  The only way I'd do it is to fly to CA stay overnight or another day and then fly to Hawaii.  I don't like flying that much!  I'm hoping for a west coast assignment for him - that I'd like to do:  Seattle or CA......ah the dreams!

Hope Scott is continuing to do well and feel stronger every day!!!

I'd say with the predicted nice weather for the weekend, we all want to enjoy the time with our families so let's put off the meetup. I will check to see if the orchard is open i to November or we can plan something else.
Colleen, I'm sorry to hear that you have been unable to run as much as you'd like. Enjoy the weekend up north.
Karent, that is exciting mews for your son's career. By the time he,s done 9 maybe he'll decide to try for 20. And good luck with a stateside assignment. Have you been able to visit Hawaii?
My sailor has to do some more recovery from his jeart surgery before he finds out if the Navy will keep him on. We're all hoping because he's not ready for a civilian career yet.

Lorraine, I would love to meet but Sat. won't work for me.  My son re-upped for another 2 1/2 years last week!  So he has 6 years to go for a total of 9 when he completes these.  Now if we can get him back in the states (he's in Hawaii), I'll be a happy mama!!!!

Darn, I will be gone till the first part of November. Maybe sometime in November or December? I'd love something closer to us!

Lorraine - no, I didn't.  This past winter made it almost impossible to train outside - I don't have a treadmill.  Getting sick, hurting my back shoveling snow - I lost my mojo.  Trying to find it.  I get out a couple times  a week and it's hard getting all that training back.  I'll get there though.

Can't make it even in Charlotte.  I'm going up north for the beautiful weather they are predicting.  I'm going to walk/jog and quilt.  Quiet me time.

Would anyone on the west side/middle of state want to meet at the Old Country Mill in Charlotte this coming Saturday, let's say 11 a.m.? This is a lot closer for me as opposed to 150 miles to the other one.

Colleen, did you participate in the GR race this past weekend?

Comment by Colleen on October 16, 2014 at 8:10am

Sorry Kathy, can't make it.  I have to work all day this Sat.

I will post pics of what I've been working on soon.

Good to hear from you Lorraine & yvette.

Loks like I won't be able to attend the orchard gathering. My month has filled up. Have fun!
