Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 011 and 012

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Got a letter today!!! :) ship 14 div 011
Me too! I hit the jackpot today. Got a 15 minute call also. Awesome day! I will sleep better tonight :)

Good evening to all!  My son is in Div 012.  We received our first letter last week.  For a kid that doesn't really like writing, I was pleasantly surprised at his letter writing skills!   We are anxiously awaiting another one.  Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent to all our SR's as they travel through this new adventure together.

My son is in Division 12 also. I received a letter last week too...with 5 other letters enclosed for some of his friends as well. :-) I figure writing helps them get through the challenges of boot camp. I agree, our prayers and positive thoughts for all of them... Can't wait for graduation!

Forgot to say my SR is in Div 11 and he saysthat of the 70 something SRs, about 66 now consider themselves close friends and the ones who are quiet and keep to themseves are treated like family." I've made quite a few friends,in fact our whole division is one big family". Hope that reassures some moms on here. Made my heart smile :)

My SR is probably one of the quiet ones keeping to himself.  He will open up but it takes awhile.  I'll ask him in my next letter..Thanks for the info.  Love that we can share things like that and reassure other moms.

Good morning everyone! Halfway there! I'm so excited to my SR smiling face :) I can't wait hopefully this month goes by faster though..
Thanks for the timeline update Merissa 1992. Still seems like forever till PIR :( And then more waiting till the next visiting opportunity. My SR ( grandson I raised since he was 2 until he left for BC )may be ready for this, and I know he has to move forward and start his adult life, but as proud of him as I am, I'm still trying to be ready. :)
It does seem like forever till PIR. I can only imagine how you feel since you raised him. I've seen my SRs mom going through this and it's been hard. I here if you ever want to talk :)
Thanks. What helps is remembering that at his age
I thought I had life all figured out too. He'll be fine. I am just going to miss his daily presence.

Hi, My son is in Div 011.  I joined this site awhile ago but this is the first time I've had an opportunity to really look at anything. I'm so proud of him and miss him like crazy. He's called 3 times now other than the 1st 30 sec call and was able to talk for quite awhile.  The call I received last Wed we actually talked for almost 1/2 hr.  It was awesome.  The first call I got he told me he was appointed as a section leader and was so excited about it.  I was really surprised at how much he's enjoying it.  He said things are no where near as hard as he expected.  I made my flight reservations today for graduation.  I'm the only one that's able to go so I'd love hear from someone else who's going.  I'm completely new to all this and am nervous and figuring everything out on my own.

Mine has only called twice:( but he is also doing well. I will be going to PIR. This site has been a big help in figuring things out. Read as much as you can, most of your questions have probably been answered here
