Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

grace3298,

If you like to lean against a wall for support, look for the seats on the bottom bleachers up against the wall!  Really aim to be at the graduation hall before 7:00 am to get those seats~~  It will be cold in the hall too, so wrap up good!

Have a super blessed PIR!!

Safe travel today, ladies.  Enjoy Sarge's MeetandGreet tonight!  Be early to PIR tomorrow....you won't regret it.  Better choice in seating within your division section, not as much traffic.

For those driving, stay on Buckley (main drag to RTC)....to the left.  Car line for RTC will be on your right.  Bypass RTC...turn around at/near train station which is right past there.  Head back from opposite direction.  Quick and easy left turn into RTC.   Gates open at 6:30.

Good Morning and Enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new Sailors and their families!!  Safe travels to all to an awesome PIR!!

Remember, PIR is just the beginning of the Navy journey.  Keep plugged into Navy for Moms where there are groups for A school, C school,  ratings (jobs), bases, ships, states, regional, twins and multiples, and the Christian Chat that I am a part of!

Also, the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command page on Facebook puts up photos from each PIR.  If you see your Sailor in a pic or more, you can download it to your own computer by either clicking on the picture, going down to Options and downloading it OR right click, "Save Picture As" to a file on your computer~~

Logan's Mom,

It's okay for all the pride being shown because of your SR!!  He's worked hard in Boot Camp and earned it. The focus is on your Son.  He's probably got 50 more years in his life and enough Love for all of his family~~  Look to Our God to give you peace~~

Comment by diannep on October 22, 2014 at 9:00pm

Hang in there, Logan'sMom.  Sadly, this just happened in another already-graduated PIR group.  Your SR knows what you have done for him....you know he appreciates that.  Just try and hang in there and be proud of him!  I know you are....lots of prayers for a difficult situation....just concentrate on the fact that you have a wonderful sailor who will make you proud!  Try to "share" right now as you don't want your sailor to feel caught in the middle.  He needs to be able to celebrate this wonderful time!  Just my 2 cents worth.....
