Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Just had a 40 minute call with my SR!!!  Ship 11 Div 024 :) Keeping my fingers crossed that you all get a call too!!

DeborahRC: I missed my first call too!!  Was on hold with UPS...ended up dropping both calls and said some choice words!!  Thankfully she called right back, like yours!!  My SR sounded good, a little stressed, a LOT sleep deprived, and I asked too, "Bottom line, ANY regrets?" And her response was, "No, none!"  She said no call for 3 weeks also, I just asked what I could do, she said the daily letters were a must!  She didn't care about sports, or news, just the everyday boring (but at times chaotic!) news that is our life :)  Feel on top of the world!!

Why did she switch bunks @ DeborahRC? She's not with Joy anymore?

My SR also said they probably wouldn't be calling for another 3 weeks.  Next call, he said would be the "I'm a sailor" call after battlestations.  He sounded a little down today.  "--just having a tough time today"  We talked for 2 minutes then the "call failed".  His calling card said he had 57 minutes but then, after the failed called, it said 7 minutes.  He called back, talked for 1 minute.  Called failed.  Grrr.  He borrowed a calling card and called just to say bye.  Second time around and it hasn't gotten easier...but, we will get through  :)

Glad to hear DIV 024 is doing better with marching. :)

Son called div 23. 40 mins. Said next call about 4 weeks. Said it was their 3 week call. He was tired said people keep talking at nights. Not sure how they are not tired. I know Army/Marine boot camp you do not talk after lights out. Sounds like still trying to pass out laundry and stuff BC never enough time BC in trouble a lot. Said many think it is summer camp. :( Hopefully this is their week and get to do more. Proud of all of our kids.!!!

Well, my son in Div 24 called tonight... but, not me again... his girlfriend... ARGH... can he not call me for 5 min and then her?! I will be the one you see at graduation slapping my son silly :-))

Is his girlfriend going to graduation?

No, she lives in England now

Well then, he DOES need to reconsider who he is calling!  haa haaa.  I had to gently remind my son to please mention his dad in his letters.  He sits there reading them and all he sees is I love you mom, I love you mom.  ugh.  Does not mean he does not love him, he just is not thinking :)

Same here- we got letters the other day- one to me, one to his younger brother and one to his younger sister (there is hope... I do have a girl! :-)) and did not send one to his step-dad (although not dad, he has raised him for the last 7 years and also sent him letters). Boys, boys! :-))) Your horse is beautiful, BTW!

Addgrey: LOL, maybe that will not be a smart idea :)  You have no idea how thankful I am my son does not have a girlfriend at the moment!!  I would never get a call either :(

Please hang in there and remember you got a great letter.  NOW I'm thinking of all the things I should have asked.  When I am on the phone I just stutter and do not know what to ask. ugh.  He probably hates calling me.

Kagcs: he also said he felt sleep deprived.  He said there is about 75 in one room? what the heck? I imagined like 20 per room.  can you imagine how loud it gets if they are all talking? unless I misunderstood the 75??

I have 3 boys (he is my second oldest)... I should know better than to expect him to pick me over the girlfriend! I was all ready last week and this week with my questions. Upset that everyone is saying they won't call for 3 weeks now and, I will probably not be the one to get the "I'm a sailor!" call, either. :-(  Yes, all of you with sons without girlfriends be super thankful right now! :-))) In the meantime, I am sucking it up and being a good mommy and writing my 20th letter and sending him everything he has asked for. I am sure he appreciates it, right?!

:-)))
