Sue:  Even though the Navy started N4Moms back in March 2008 as support for families, they do not have control on what is discussed here.  So many recruiters won't share this info....or....maybe some won't because they don't want the SRs to have the info that you all can provide to them by what you receive on this site!  That is probably more like it.  But it is a shame that so many go through Bootcamp without this support.

CatMom:  Yes, it probably is not a male/female thing as far as how many parents are at MEPS and DEP meetings.  Probably more up to the individual SR and what they want.  Glad your daughter included you!

Good Morning Everyone!  Hope maybe some calls come in today for you!

Bug5280- That's great. I have been working designing a cancer survivor card. I hope to have the design finished soon. I use the cricut machine to make most of my cards. I have so much going on that my husband is surprised I have time to even think.

diannep,

Maybe if's because my Sailor daughter was female?  But the other female recruits there didn't have their parents and sisters at the DEP meetings either.  Guess she just didn't mind us supporting her like we did~~  Miss her so!!

Michaels mom-I really need sleep-I thought you asked if you could get a shower?  I'm thinking, sure go ahead, we aren't the ones in BC!

Bug-now thanks to your armedforcesgear comment, I'm not getting that much needed sleep...lol!

Thank you all for your comments and info-this group and the facebook group are my sanity now!  I was wondering why our recruiter never told us about this site,  Thank God I stumbled on it myself.  That would be great if they could include info about this in the form letter-you know everyone gets one of those.

BlessedNavyMom:  My son actually flew to Bootcamp back in 2009.  Yes, from Miami!  I have been helping here on the PIR Groups since early 2010.  Love helping!

navymom...

We'll have a full car. My hubby, 21 year old daughter and our son's girlfriend. Even though it looks like only 3 can go to PIR, we wanted to bring his girlfriend with us so they can spend time together during Liberty. :) At least I have plenty of drivers for our trip. Looking forward to meeting you too!

Kimberly68 -

That's AWESOME that you received a letter from your SR!  I'm so excited for you!!  (I'm still waiting, soon - I hope)  I did however get a change to speak with my SR one afternoon, called for medical reasons.  My SR said the same about no sleep for 40+ hours. I'm sure since then they have gotten rest. and are adjusting to their routine.      WOW! steak and lobster, sounds delish!  :o)   I know my SR probably  LOVED that!  What ship / division is your sailor in?

Comment by navymom on October 24, 2014 at 3:09pm

Barbie..Hope to see you there. If we drove it would be 16 hours so we are flying! I'm taking my 9 year old but don't know what to do about my 4 year old she only want me most of the time and don't want it to take from my time with my son.
