Happy Friday!!

Good morning everyone :)
No problem, littleman.
Good Morning All !
For those of you looking for a special gift for your SR-soon-to-be-Sailor, I got a couple of these Challenge Coins for my Sailor daughter when she graduated PIR last year, please check out www.pirgifts.com. Challenge Coins are a military tradition. Craig, who is one of the veterans on Navy for Moms, designed the ones that are connected to the ships at RTC. The name of your SR's ship is right next to the ship number in the Discussion Forum. When you click on one of the coins, you will be taken to a page where there is a video about Challenge Coins. This would be a special gift especially connected to their Boot Camp days! Another really sharp coin is the Core Value one--it has cut outs and a diamond cut beveled edge. These coins are no longer given out by the Navy to the Sailors, so it is up to friends and famiily. My Sailor daughter thought her USS Hopper (Ship 03) coin was "cool."
zacksmom,
Yep, naps are definitely a luxury in the Navy!!
littleman,
The SR write down the guests on their final access list about the week before PIR and they will put the formal name on there. I think the RDCs just tell them to hurry up on this list and they can do it right on the final one. How thoughtful he added back-ups in case the ones first on the lines can't make it. If you're not sure he knows someone full name (should be pretty close to what's on their driver's license or school id (if a student), then write him with the list. Make sure who can make it too. No passes. Just need to show your id at the door to be checked against the list. Only 4 allowed for this PIR. Any extras can still fly in to Great Lakes, but stay at the hotel to watch PIR on Livestream, then can all meet up with your SR for a meal and go to the airport to meet him too if they want.
You will need to communicate with the proposed guests for your SR to find out who can go, then let him know in a letter~~
State driver's licenses, state ids, school ids with picture for students (ok if last year if new one not done yet), birth certificate/social security cards for kids not in school yet for each person who is going to PIR and also for the ones who want to meet him at the airport.
Sorry I just saw your Tuesday post diannep
Thank you Got a letter he told me the same thing Alix'smum
