Anna,

Thanks for your input and another veteran mom also let me know that the hair straightener was okay to receive as long as it was specifically requested by the SR~~

Catsmom,

Thanks for your input too, but I'm pretty sure the SR did not want to spend money on something she already owned from home and was probably $30.00 or more.  You know how picky girls and their appliances are!!

Jean,

I LOVE that picture!!!  Thank you for sharing!!!

CatMom509,

I've never heard of anyone not being allowed to receive something for PIR.  I know my girl asked for her very large hairbrush which I sent with no problems.  I think as long as there is no contraband - food, treats, etc. they don't get as picky   I would caution tho that the sailor should make sure they will have room to store it.

Catsmom,

Beautiful picture of your daughter!!  Thanks for sharing!!

Jean,

You guys have had your share of being in the news this week.  Time for things to settle down for WA!!!  Glad you are safe from all the craziness!!!  Sending prayers for your sister!!

Jean, Love the picture, all so beautiful and happy!

CatMom509, I don't know if they can get that in the mail. I know they let them go to the NEX to get things they need before the PIR.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Crystal ran 2 5ks today, and has hockey tomorrow...I would be done...LOL

Hello Mommas!

I help out on the PIR groups and one of the moms there said her daughter requested her to send a hair straightener for PIR and it is allowed.  I know that requested contacts and make-up can be sent, but haven't heard about styling appliances.  Can you mommas give me any feedback on this?  Thanks so much!!  Blessings to you all~~
