For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

I'm so excited to find my SR's Ship/Div...I have received 3 letters and 3 phone calls. He has had some challenges but is forging ahead. I'm so proud....he has a long list of friends in his Div. :)

Welcome. From what my SR wrote in his first letter, they are all making friends and becoming each others support system as we can only do so from a distance. So glad of that, hated the thought that all he had as a lifeline was letters from home.

Same here my sr said he has made friends. He can make friends with a stranger in a couple of minutes lol no shyness and so outgoing. Glad you finally found us :)

My son hasn't said anything about friends so I really hope he isn't isolating himself. He said he's doing great and loves it but I'm worried he won't open up to anyone.

@Kim65 I quoted some of my SR's first letter earlier, but here is the full quote " I've made quite a few friends, in fact our whole division is one big family. Out of the 74 (?) -his question mark, not mine- of us I'd say 65 of us are already really close friends. The other 9 are just more of the quiet type, but we still treat them like family". So know that he has a support system there, whether or not he chooses to fully engage with the other SRs. If he's liking the experience, he's probably okay with the social side of things. And it could be there is too much else to convey, and he doesn't mention friends because that is just part of the experience.

Thanks for the reassurance. I haven't heard anything from him since the 15th, the last couple days have been really hard for some reason. Almost worse than it was when he first left. I wish he'd call but I'm thinking this is Hell week so I doubt I'll hear from him.
