We have been 38 days without our sailor, but God is good... He will pull you through this.. Be strong for your sailor he needs you now more than ever.. Write loving positive things to him.. I'm not saying it has been easy, but it will make you both stronger. Hold on...

My son is in Atlanta doing MEPS and choosing his job today. I am at the beginning of this journey and I already cry. Just remember that what he is doing will bring you so much pride when you see him again. I have been crying everyday since my son told me he was going into the Navy. Today he is swearing in and I am speechless. I will pray for you and hopes that you get some comfort soon.

I can feel your pain- my son left yesterday- it is the only time that I am ok with his room not being clean!  His little sister slept in his shirt last night and used his blanket-she fell asleep crying- I hope this gets easier!

My daughter is 21 and even though she got an apt down the road we were seldom apart we even worked at the same place and would see each other every day.  When she decided to follow her brother and sisters into the military we both knew it was a good career move; but these two months are being very hard on me.  I think everything for me and probably for you too will be when they are able to have a phone again. As soon as she can call and tell me shes fine; I'll be fine too. It seems like a long time but it's really not.

i know how you feel i think i am going crazy i always said this child would be the death of me. i have 2 older children girl27 married with a baby and a son 25 who live 75 miles from me and is in the national guard and i have never felt so sad in my entire life since my youngest son just turned 18 has left for the navy july 1st i can not seem to get over it i am not by any means comparing this to the death of a child because i know now i would never survive that but i am about to lose it from missing him which is so crazy he was rarely home anyway and when he was he was in his room on his xbox i found myself so afraid of possibly missing a phone call that i didn't even leave my home this weekend

so take heart i am right there with you thanks for sharing

I feel your pain, my sr is my youngest son, I lost his oldest brother 10 years ago. I have never been unable to contact him before and it is killing me, I can't sleep well and everything makes me cry. I missed his first call cause my phone died, got his box today could barley open it. I am living for that first letter. Hugs hun

I know the feeling my boyfriend is the love of my life and my best friend and he has been gone 10 days so far no call or letter. i just recieved his from letter for
graduation which is Sep.26 It gives me something to look foward to but Im still super depressed I have no appetite and cant sleep. How long before the first call or letter?

YOU WILL PROBABLY GET A LETTER TODAY I BET USUALLY THURSDAY IS MAIL DAY FOR ME ONCE IN A WHILE A WEDNESDAY

AS FAR AS THE CALL I GOT MY FIRST REAL CALL ON THE SATURDAY AFTER 2 WEEKS FROM WHEN HE LEFT

AND THEN THE NEXT SUNDAY WAS A SURPRISE CALL BECAUSE HIS COMPANY DID WELL ON TEST SO THEY RECEIVED  A BONUS CALL

BUT THAT SPOILED ME BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD NO CALLS SINCE  BUT THEY TOLD ME BEFORE HE LEFT HE WOULD ONLY GET TO MAKE 1ST FORM STATEMENT CALL 1 FREE TIME CALL AND THEN A CALL THE WEEK OF GRADUATION TO LET YOU KNOW FOR SURE HE IS GRADUATING SO I GUESS I AM 1 AHEAD OF THE GAME

MY SON GRADUATES 8/22 SO NOT LONG NOW BUT AS FAR AS MISSING HIM I MISS HIM  JUST AS MUCH TODAY AS THE DAY HE LEFT

REALLY SAD TODAY BECAUSE OUR SCHOOLS STARTED TODAY AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN 25 YEARS I HAVENT WAITED AT THE DOOR WITH A "YOU FINISHED YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL"PRESENT

I have not done well either;( I am so sad the unknown is getting To much for me!

So sorry your having a hard day, my son has been since Oct 9 and I have had many days like this. I am sending you a big hug and hope all gets better. We as Moms just need to take one day at a time and know the rainbow is soon to come, when we get to give them the biggest hug they will never forget. After reading my sons letter I think he will be the same way. I know today is hard but we just have to keep pushing forward. Sweet dream and keep me posted on your daily feeling, good and sad:)

Brenda

I miss my husband too, its only been 11 days for me, but it feels like its been a month. I got the letter saying what division he is and PIR date and it was the first my spirits were truly lifted. Our son and I get to send him his letters today. Its hard to talk to friends and family about it because they don't really know, or want to hear it. I hope it gets better for the both of us, sorry for venting on your vent.
