Joniana my son who is also in power school called tonight apologizing for his silence lately. He said there was a big test for him(he is an EM)today that he was stressing over. There is another one Tuesday and probably one the Monday after Thanksgiving break if I'm remembering correctly. He did say encouraging letters are greatly appreciated for many of his classmates. Some are struggling. I am proud of him since he has reached out to a few and offered to be a study buddy to them! Hang in there momma! They are working hard and doing what Uncle Sam needs them to do!

Deep breathing, adult beverage of choice, wind sprints, followed by more adult beverages of choice...ahhh, that "other", other worldly Woman, girl...taking-your-son-away-from-you-person... how to put this...here goes, shes's not self-centered, what she is, is attracted to the wonderful so you raised. Embrace, embrace, embrace and breathe. I can only say this, if you don't, it will become a wedge between you and your son, embrace her, whether you approve or not, and he will talk your ear off. Did I mention breathe.

So My son texted that he will get a week off at christmas. YEA I junped up and down for 1/2 a second. He then let me know that a girl who always wanted to be his girl friend but has not, bought a plane ticket out to Charleston!! Not nice or thoughtful of our family. What should I do say oh well, buy a ticket there or say something that this girl is being self centered.

For those of you who have sailors heading to Ballston Spa for prototype here's the link for the Ballston Spa group.  It's not as active as this group, but I try to get on there every once in a while!

Seven weeks of silence here, prob about three more. I write twice a week. In the meantime, I bopped around Greece for a month, have been back a week and played tennis 8 times and taken a bumch of overheads for my Sailors, since they are both out. It's what they would want. I figure they are are giving it their best, so I will too...HOOYAH

Thank you B'sNukeMom!! I like your info to SoCal Dad too. I would love for my son to fall in that catagory too. He is off to BS too. A mom can hope, right?

Sunrise - you will need to friend Momtom and then you can exchange info in a private message.  You don't want to post any names on here for safety reasons!  Glad that Momtom can help you out!  Congrats to your sailor ;-)

SoCal Sailor Dad - yes there is a good chance he can have time off for Christmas.  He probably won't know for sure though until he gets to BS.  Fingers crossed it all works out!

Comment by SoCal_Sailor_Dad on November 20, 2014 at 2:42pm

Got a text from my son saying that there's a strong rumor that when he gets to BS next week they will for certain be placed in pre-fill which means he could get leave for Christmas. Does that sound right? For now, I'm cautiously optimistic.
