OH - forgot. DIL went to doc visit for check up on grandson to be. Well, the baby is now 3 weeks ahead of time. In size and weight too. Did the doc get the due date wrong or is the kid just in a hurry to get here? Let you know more when I do.

Hey Kim  - any news yet?

HI

Ok first thing - Blondie said her sling is off - yippe. But then she said she was told not to over do it. To the new moms - this is an NOT even in Blondie's vocabulary. To over DO and be faster and better than teh Energizer Bunny is the normal for Blondie. So Blondie - you asked for positive vibes for your daughter - got them - coming her way. BUT sending some some positive - hopeful vibes that you think about NOT over doing - just once.  Want you time with daughter and planning wedding to be perfect. And you in PERFECT order too. Luv u

Barb !!!! Oh my goodness. Now I like to shovel but this is so over doing it. Very glad you are safe and so sad to hear about the 6 deaths. Not many know to check those vents to be clear. So now how long have teh schools been closed? And have Nolan and Blake asking to make snowmen? I hope you  have plenty of hot chocolate too.

I totally forgot the need of rain in CA. Hope you get some.

Hey cuka - I live in Rockford, IL :).

Oh I have to share this. I have another gf and she told me something that chilled me to the bone. My gf's sister has a son that joined teh Marines. She learned about the Blue Star Banners for the windows and then started telling others - she can't wait for to be a Gold Star Mom. Both I and my gf have been trying to tell her - this NOT good! Gold Star does not mean top of the class in school! No - I don't know if this information has sunk in yet. But I am afraid I might deck her if she says it again. I know that is not right - but - GEE WIZ . any suggestions?  Sorry to end this with talk with a stupid - hurtful subject - but honestly - how do you handle this?

Wish all sweet dreams hugs

Well, guys still in the thick of it. Still snowed it, plow guy has not showed, but snow is starting to sink so hoping snowblower might be able to handle enough to get car out. Total snow in our neighborhood-80 in.! Trying to get as much snow off porch roof and above living room as possible.  We are reaching through windows on second floor and borrowed neighbors roof rake.  I don't have enough nerve to go out on roof or let hubby up there-too slippery and dangerous. This morning we started getting freezing rain. We're ok on food and hubby had to get to work as driving bans are lifted, so he has been getting rides.  Our road was plowed, yay! If the roofs hold up, the power stays on & we get car out, we'll be ok.  We could use a break in the weather!, but flooding is expected starting tomorrow through wedsnesday, ugh.

Blondie-Good for you taking time off!  A full house, sounds fun. Prayers and positive thoughts- I believe what is meant to be, will be.  She sounds like she has made peace with whatever direction her life takes.

Mtn mom-sounds like fun, especially thinking of when the packages will be opened up:)

Blondie I am a MassHole born & bred, only time away was the time in Buffalo and then a summer in Long Island, NY.

Sorry to hear about the &^% that your daughter is going through. My sailor has experienced the &^% to lesser degree but he's only been in 2 yrs. Let her know she is in my thoughts.

Happy Friday Everyone!

mtnmom - A huge THANK YOU to you and the Blue Star Moms. You ladies are awesome!

Blondie - Positive thoughts and definite prayers for your daughter.  Such a shame for the Navy to lose such a great gal especially over, as you say, #$%&!   but I believe things happen for a reason and hopefully this is the start to the best part of her life.  She has so much to look forward too.  I wish her the best.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi ladies--

The packaging drive tonight by my Blue Star Moms Group was fantastic.  We packed over 200 boxes and more to be done tomorrow.  My son will be receiving several boxes, so he can share with other sailors on his ship.  I cannot believe the generosity of the people in community where we are.

Cuka--How wonderful your daughter is home.  When my son was home before Japan, I must have done 10 or 12 load of laundry, and it made me happy.  Sounds funny, but it felt good to something simple for him.

To those of you in the snow...how do you do it???  When it rains here, people are crazy, if it snowed like that here, I won't know what to do.

Barbara & Blondie - Wow, been watching the news. Hopefully this is what us northerns have to look forward to.  Lived through the Blizzard '78 and went to school in Buffalo for a year - never remember ever seeing this much this soon. Hop'n the pantry is stocked & the woodpile is close to the door. Take Care.

Cuka - glad to hear you've got your sailor home.  I agree with the ladies - get in as many hugs as you can !
