My daughter starts A school for AECT Jan 12-Aug7. I thought A school was only 9 weeks and C school longer. How long is C school and where are the locations ?

labradoodles, thanks for the info.  It's not that he's planning on leaving, just a worried parent that wants him to have great opportunities in life:).  Thanks for the confidence boost!

Can anyone tell me, should my SR going to A school in GL for AECF, decide to leave the Navy after his first contract, which rating (FC or ET) has better opportunities for good civilian jobs?

Second Class Petty Officer, paygrade of E-5.

FC school takes roughly a year.

My ET1 is still in Japan, but has orders for San Diego.

Hi everyone. I haven't been on NFM's for a long long time. I just thought I would drop in say hello and offer encouragement to all new FC and ET Moms.

Can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It's been four years sinse my son graduated from boot camp. Now he is FC2 and in charge of his department. So far he has been on one deployment. While deployed his ship crossed the Equator and he made his King Neptune, LoL.

Hang in there new Moms.

My son just graduated PIR 11/14. He is an FC. His rate will depend on what the navy needs and how well he did in boot camp. Our of 745 people there were only 14 who got FC. FC have about 18 months of school A & C
