Good morning all;

Does anyone talk with loved ones via Tango (an app)?  Son asked me to download it.  I think I'll try to find it for my phone.

Reneec- I always have a stack of 5 or 6 large APO boxes, you can order them online from USPS.com and any forms you need.  I have an open box sitting on my freezer, filling with goodies from every time I go out.  It takes me  2 - 3 weeks to fill a box.  My son especially likes me to send him the parts of trail mix and he mixes it himself.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and hears from your sailors..

Received a letter from our sailor's CO yesterday - welcoming our sailor to his command. He spoke well of our son and invited us to USS Antietam's FaceBook page to publicly track what our sailor is up to. [I had already joined before he deployed] They post some great pics. If you are on FB you should see if your sailor's commands also have FB pages. I like having some way of knowing what my sailor is doing.

Hey Reneec, agree with T-Lynn my post office has been great helping me figure this mailing out. There is "Military" boxes available but you can just you the Regular Flat Rate packaging. The great thing for us was that FPO AP shipments pay regular postage NOT International. The U.S. Custom's form you need is #CP-72. If you still feel you need written instructions they are on the form itself and there might be info. on Postal Services website USPS.com Best of Luck.

HI

 Are you using the FPO AP boxes from the post office? If so - the first time I did it - I was helped at the post office. That way I learned what information was needed. They will help you.  Hugs

Happy Monday Ladies!

Welcome Mama Cevans!  Tell us a little about yourself and your sailor...is he on shore duty or assigned to a ship?  Most of the sailors love Japan and I hope your son will too.  Got questions just ask....there is always someone on here who can give you an answer.

Barbara - hope you are all still doing ok.  Please continue to check in.  Continued prayers for everyone up your way

TLynn - someone needs to be explicit what a Gold Star Mom is to that woman.  I think she'll appreciate being set straight.

A growing baby!  My youngest was born 5 weeks early and he teases me that he came early because he was "hungry" and I believe he's right...at 17 he's 6'2" and 235 lbs!  He hasn't stop eating since we brought him home from the hospital!

and ladies....

On to lighter subjects;

I heard from my son tonight, via email.  It so good to hear from him, I don't do well without hearing from him frequently.

T-Lynn;

Please refer your friend to this website:

http://www.sjcagoldstarmoms.org/

It is for a chapter of gold star moms here in California.  The second paragraph says it all.  Here in the Fresno area, 8 young men who attended the same high school (not at the same time) have given their lives to the war and have made their moms Gold Star Moms.  I personally met one of the Gold Moms this summer, she is absolutely wonderful and works so hard for a local Wounded Warrior event that I also help with.
