Chrome and Safari are the browsers I was told work best for the passes.  But Mozilla Firefox should also.

rj01,

That's really nice of you to do that, but it's really not allowed to give the gate passes out to people you don't know.  It is a security risk to allow access to RTC that have not been given access personally by their own Sailors.  I know our first instinct is to trust and to help, but the security of our Navy bases also depends on the families not providing access to others they don't personally know.

I hope you and everyone else here understands this policy.  Thanks again for trying to be helpful!

Some have to switch to a different browser to print the gate pass too, but I can't remember which ones work or don't~~

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new Sailors and their families!!  Safe travels to all to an awesome PIR!!

Remember, PIR is just the beginning of the Navy journey.  Keep plugged into Navy for Moms where there are groups for A school, C school,  ratings (jobs), bases, ships, states, regional, twins and multiples, and the Christian Chat that I am a part of!

Also, the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command page on Facebook puts up photos from each PIR.  If you see your Sailor in a pic or more, you can download it to your own computer by either clicking on the picture, going down to Options and downloading it OR right click, "Save Picture As" to a file on your computer~~

Whoever needs a gatepass let me know, I heard alot of people were having trouble opening and printing it even with a password, So I printed 10 just incase anyone needs it !

Tammy:  The only one who can tell you the password is your SR....because the SRs write them in the letter.  If you don't get it, don't worry.  If you take a shuttle to PIR (I recommend Sarge's), you don't need a gate pass.  Also, if you park off base at the train station right past RTC (about 1/4 mile walk back to RTC gate), you don't need the pass.  But ask you SR if you get a call today.

You are very welcome, Kay's Mom!

Tammy,

The letter referred to is the Form Letter that gave you the PIR date and Ship/Division your SR/Sailor has been assigned to.  The password should be there too.

Hopefully your SR/Sailor can tell you over the phone what the password is if he/she remembers it.  You only need it if you are driving onto RTC though.  Unfortunately, no one here is allowed to share their password with others for security purposes~~

You can also take a shuttle with Sarge which is $3.00 per person each way to PIR--much easier in my opinion to not deal with the other drivers and parking and all~~  Drops you by a gate and you only have to walk 50 yards to get to the graduation hall entrance.
