texaspride,

At this point, you can assume that you have a Sailor!!  Many times calls in the last couple of days have been to tell a family not to attend~~

rj01,

The gate pass allows a vehicle access through the RTC Main Gate and being able to park without names being checked.  The Access List for PIR is not checked until you have walked up to graduation hall.  So someone who may not be attending PIR can actually get onto the RTC property this way.  Just wanted to explain the process...

Hello All!

"He did not waver at the promise of God

through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith,

giving glory to God, and being fully convinced

that what [God] had promised He was also

      able to perform."

Eight weeks ago we kissed goodbye

And sent you on your way

Now the day has come we’ve waited for

It’s Graduation Day!

No more sitting, staring at the phone,

Just praying it would ring.

No more waiting on the mailman

And the letters he would bring.

Your days of standing watch have passed,

And thoughts of missing home.

You have grown to take your place at last

And stand up on your own.

You wondered if you’d make it through

To stand here on this day

For all the things you’ve learned to do

With pride you now can say…

“A Navy Sailor stands before you,

Here on graduation Day!

I have done what I se out to do,

In every single way.”

PIR WOW moment: when garage door opens and your sailor starts walking into the hall... PRICELESS...

If you don't get there early enough to sit right in front of your sailors division the best next option will be seating on the very first benches you encounter as soon as you get into the hall. those are last to fill but first to see Sailors make their big entrance.

Bookster:  Drivers license is fine.  They require govt-issued picture ID.  For those who do not have a drivers license, passport or state ID card is fine.  For students, school photo ID counts (but I would take social security card or birth certificate too, just in case).  For younger children, birth certificate or social security card is needed.
