Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 045 and 046

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi! I'm am totally a new navy mom! My son is ship 11, div 045. He will be heading to A school in Goose Creek after 12/12 PIR. We are heading to GL for thanksgiving. Wondering if anyone is going to Sarge's party at the sun dance(?) saloon? We are also going to PIR and staying at the spring hill suites for both occasions. Not sure what to expect for Christmas. Just hope the weather holds out. We are driving from toledo, OH. Does anyone know if they get Liberty for Christmas? Cant imagine christmas without him but I know this could be one of many! :(

Hi there!  I am a new Navy mom, too.  My son is also headed to Goose Creek after bootcamp.  He is in 11/46.  We are going there for Thanksgiving, too!  I can't wait.  We live in a suburb of Flint, MI.  We are going to PIR as well.  I'm not expecting too much out of my room for Thanksgiving, but we are staying at the Navy Lodge for PIR.  Christmas liberty is on our minds, too.  We have heard lots of rumors, so I guess I'll just have to wait for the official word.

It looks like we live pretty close to each other. My husband works in MI by the airport. How old is your son?

He just turned 20.  I got a letter from him yesterday that said he has to fly out to A school on the 13th and stay there for a week, but will then have liberty from 12/19 - 1/5.  Don't quote me on that end date, but I'm close.

I talked to my daughter this past Sunday.  She is also 11/045 headed to Pensacola.  Being that none of us know as of yet if they can come home, I rented a condo for December 25-27 with the hopes that she will be able to leave base.  Luckily, we live in Georgia.

I am very well aware that all military branches are different, but when one of my other daughters went to MOS school for the Marine Corps, she had to stay in Missouri on base for 3 weeks before her classes started.

We can only keep our fingers crossed.  I believe that is will be up to their command in A school on what they can do.

I think we are adopting a sailor along with our son...is it okay to put out there and let his family know he will be with someone for the Holiday? Do I mention his name or is that a no-no? I guess he could always use our phone to call, but thought I'd let his mom know. :)

So thankful for the American Legion #208!!! They adopted my son and several other recruits for Thanksgiving!  He was able to call me, watch the parade, feed his face, and they even took the recruits to see a movie!! He had an awesome time!  I am anxiously looking forward to graduation day!  Does anyone know if taxis near the base will pick up and drop off at the gate of the naval base?  I am flying in and probably won't be renting a car so I will be relying on taxis to get around.  Thanks in advance!  Everybody have a blessed day!
