when is his pir? he can test for the float daily, and the run every other day. once he passes he will go with another div to bs, and if it's all don't before his pir be will still attend. even if he passes bs the night before. he'll make it! no fear.

Hello everyone, My son gave my the scripted call 1 hour before his div went to BS21. He needs to shave another 20sec from run and pass float so he can pass coveralls. His div is in BS now and there is no other BS before PIR. I am upset not because he fell short, but because they did not give him another chance on the swim. It was over a week since he last tried it. He sinks when he raises his head to breath. I told him to turn his head and he never got the chance to try. I am really mostly upset because they made him cry. He does not cry and he is really hurting. Sometimes I wish the RDC`s would get on the phone after the scripted call and apologize for letting them down. They never do. cowards haha. From the other posts there is hope. I am truly sad he does not get to PIR and we get to see him. He really wanted to strut his stuff in front of the crowd. I still am having a hard time wrapping my head around why they seem to punish the sr`s that way. I know it is the Navy way and they are being gracious enough to send him to FIt to keep trying. They say that PIR is for the families and capping is for the sailors. I was a sailor the opportunity to strut our stuff was the kicker. To hear the RCPO say eyes right and every head snaps to the right. It was awesome. I think when I get to see him man the rails on an aircraft carrier in his dress whites that might be more awesome.

My son called this afternoon..."I'm a sailor"!  He was so exhausted.  I wish I could be there.  He said there were 20 or so others from FIT that went through battlestations with him last night.  Congrats to all our new sailors and their families.  God bless and Happy New Year.

Natesmom,

Congratulations!!!  The waiting is so hard but, fortunately the worst is over.  My son is also waiting to go through battlestations.  He has been able to call home several times since passing the run.  He is sounding much better.  They are able to read books, go to recruit heaven and even watch movies sometimes.  (when the division is doing well/following the rules)     Our soon to be sailors are almost through    :)

Hi all! I'm new here...My son was suppose to graduate on Dec 12th but didn't pass the run portion and went to the FIT div. This last week has been so stressful not knowing if he has passed. It has been so helpful to know others have been through the same situation. Today I got the call that he finished his run requirement with 20 seconds to spare and on to battlestations!

My son passed his run!  Waiting to go through BS but, they won't be having those until after Christmas.  He passed last Friday but, didn't call to let me know until Sunday.  I think he was putting off telling me he wouldn't be home for Christmas.  But, he passed!  :)

GM ladies, I received my "I'm a Sailor call on Wednesday night!!! I was excited and he was exhausted, still reeling from bs.  He leaves for A School on Tuesday so we're heading to GL tomorrow and returning home Sunday. about a twelve hour round trip drive for one day with my son.  I'd say after all he's been through over these past weeks, the drive pales in conparison.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. For the loved ones who have an SR in FIT, don't despair, they will make it through, just have faith and stay encouraged. Hugs to all.
