Hello everyone! My Sailor had his PIR 11-26-14 and he arrived at the airport in B.More today. Not worried, but I am curious! Are there any tips you all can think of to share with him? I'm waiting on him to see if he can find out the Christmas leave dates since he won't know if he has watch during it yet. Also has anyone had to go through their processing of marriage licenses? He's told me a few things his chief told him at Great Lakes, but I'm wondering if any of that changes like he was told he didn't need "permission" to get married that he could just provide our marriage license and I would have to come fill out paperwork to be put on his DEERS and page 2.

Heyma313, me, too!  I'm right outside of Port Huron.

@NavyMom93, thanks for the information. What part of Michigan are you from?  Its good to hear from another Michigander on N4M.  I'm in SE MI.

chowdercall911, I can't say if it's always O'Hare. It was O'Hare for my son when he graduated in April.

heyma313, we had to drive back to Michigan, too!  Yes, that would have been an insanely long wait till he got on the plane!  He talked to his fellow MC's and then dozed before getting on the plane.  It worked out well. :)

Thanks ladies that helps!! @NavyMom93, I think that will be the way we'll go, meet him at the airport, hand off his cell phone and laptop, say our I love yous and goodbyes, and then head back to the hotel.  I'm not sure my husband and I could make it through staying until his flight left.  We have a five hour drive back to MI that day.

heyma313, my son had liberty until around 7:30 Friday evening, then got to O'Hare at about 2:30 A.M. I brought him his phone and his tablet and his laptop, and we said our good-byes.  His plane left for Baltimore at 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning, and he was getting settled in by the afternoon.

heyma313: When the PIR is on a Friday, they get leave the rest of that morning, and day, until 7-9p.  Then they leave at the crack of dawn Saturday morning and wait until whenever their flight is.  You can give them their phone, computer, and a few personal items at the airport.  They cannot have anything when they return to the base Friday night.  Hope that helps!!  I'm sure some of the veteran mom's will be able to fill in any blanks.

Good morning MC moms and loved ones.  My son's PIR is 11/21/14 and I was wondering if anyone here knows how PIR liberty goes for sailors heading to FT Meade?  Has it been your experiences that they leave the next day or have there been any grad 'n' gos? I'm sure its different for everyone, but I'd like to hear how other experineces went.

Thanks
