Hi everyone.  My name is Barbie and my SR is Ship 03 Division 028 in PIR 12/05/14.

I have been asked to start a Discussion about the Basket Project for our Meet and Greet on Thursday December 4th.

Time is flying by and soon we will be in Great Lakes waiting for our SRs to graduate!

We are putting together a Basket Raffle at the Meet & Greet with proceeds going to offset the cost of the Meet and Greet. Sarge and his wife put on these Meet & Greets weekly as long as there is a PIR...at no expense to the families.  We are asking for donations of baskets to be raffled off at our Meet and Greet.

A basket can consist of anything.  There is a suggested minimum of $20, if you want to go more that would be awesome.

Ideas for basket.  They are not limited to just these ideas.

Basket representing the State your SR is from or any state you love (ie: could include state souvenir items, food, etc.). Wine, Tea, Coffee. Holidays (ie: Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Columbus Day), Summer, the beach, Military, Sport teams, Nascar, pets, reading, kids, Avon, Tastefully Simple, Bath & Beauty, crafts, items from a business you own etc.

In previous PIRs those travelling by plane have used totes, or gift bags as "baskets".

If you plan on donating, have any suggestions, comments or questions either comment here or send me a message.  I have also posted on our Facebook PIR groups about baskets.  I want as many of us involved as possible.  I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can.

My basket will represent west Texas...(yes, there’s a difference between west TX and the rest of TX) LOL

Let’s have some FUN and raise money for our Meet and Greet.

Thank you!
