My son called me at 12:15 last night - 'I'm here, I'm fine".  He has been waiting to make that call since February when he got his ship date.  It was a long day of flying and waiting between flights to get to GL. I will now wait for "the box" and the letter with his address and ship and division and PIR.  It will be a different holiday season this year but I am proud of his decision to join the Navy.

I got my call the night before last at 10:22pm. :)
Where did your recruit ship from?
I got the call last night as well. About 11:15 cst. He sounds excited. Suppose I will see you in January at PIR

RyansMom - I'm glad your son sounded so excited!  Your son must have been in the same group as mine.  It was 12:15 my time so that made it 11:15 cst!  My son sounded tired - he was up since 4AM travelling all day.  But, I got a text message at 9pm my time that said "see you in two months!". Looking forward to the January PIR!

Where did he ship from? Mine was from Houston. We had thanksgiving Saturday and gave everyone a blue candle like the profile photo.

My son shipped from Richmond, Virginia.  We also had thanksgiving on Saturday.  I was determined that he got his turkey and rib roast dinner!.  That was a very nice idea to give everyone a blue candle!

I got my call at 12:10 am Monday night. Kinda hard knowing its going to be awhile before I get to talk to him again. Looking forward to PIR. My sons recruiter said his grad should be Jan 23. He's staying in GL for A school so looking forward to his liberty on the weekend. God bless all of you praying for strength & peace till we all see our Sailors again. Kim

My son called us at 11:15p.m to let us know that he made it to base.

My son left for boot camp 11/24/2014 and called when he arrived in Chicago...was a quick call but so glad he made it safely.  He is 19 and a new daddy to a 9 month old baby girl..I know this is going to be tough on him..but it is something he needs to do for his lil' family. We just got his box of stuff, whew that made me cry.  He hails from Grants Pass Oregon.

My Daughter arrived on the 25th as well. She called her brother but text me most of the bus trip up. This is her dream. She has talked about joining the Navy since she was three years old. Since her box will be sent to her dads house and so will the letter with her address how do I get her address short of waiting until she writes me & waiting for her Brother to get it from their dad for me?

My son shipped to GL on 11/25 from Texas.  We are very proud of the choice he has made by joining the Navy and support him all the way.  But, I am a very sad momma as this is my first child to leave home.

My son left from Houston on the 25th. Prayers for you and yours.
