Oh NancyJo - NO - I am so very sorry to hear this.....geez this just burns me up.....and you're right - they'll probably just toss everything when they find out it's not gifts.  Your son doesn't need this headache right now :(

My son is on his way to SD to report to the CV70 making his way across country with his family. Last night his cartop carrier was broken into and they stole his seabag. He lost all his uniforms. We're heartbroken but at least they didn't break into the van and steal all the electronics he had in there. Now he has to rush and replace his uniforms including sewing on all the patches and stuff. Why are people so terrible to each other? The thieves were probably looking for Christmas gifts and will throw his stuff out on the side of the road.

Hi All - Happy Thursday!

Co-twin - yep it's been a longgggg 2 years LOL!  Now we anxiously await for his orders - he said they should be getting them anytime.

Sierrascrapper - nice to hear that both your boys are doing well!  Enjoy your time with them.

O b'snukemom... congrates to your sailor. He is almost there...then starts a whold new adventure and a whole new worries for mom.

Happy Christmas to you and your whole family.

Sierra good to see you on here. Hope you are settled in your new home. See your twins do really care about each other, Maybe all their competitiveness is behind them now that they have been apart and can just be bro's.

Howdy everyone! Been out of touch for a while. My schedule at work had been a bear and it's hard to find time to keep up with my favorite groups.

Hope you all are getting ready for a Very Merry Christmas. We are gladly planning the arrival of our Sailor home for the holiday stand-down. His twin brother is excited too! We will cherish this year so very much as we may not be as fortunate next year due to timing of his next phase of school. My heart goes out to all of you who do not get to have your Sailor home for the holidays. I want to extend a sincere thank you to them for their sacrifice for us.

My boys are doing GREAT! My Nuke is halfway through A-school and is doing well in his class and seems happy. He just bought his first wooden clarinet and has been playing it with an ensemble of Sailors on base. I cannot wait to hear him play his vlarinet agsin when he is home. My Sailor's twin did quite well for his first semester of college. I think he ended up with a high B average and he just started his first job about a month ago. Sure makes this Mom's heart so proud to know we have raised good kids.

My son flew out of O'Hare. He PIR'd 11/21. He asked for all his electronics including his laptop and some underwear, sweatpants, a shirt and one pair of sneakers. I put that in a backpack that I kept with me until I saw him at the airport. He checked in all his bags and then he carried the backpack as his carry-on. (They are not allowed to carry the backpack on their shoulders, only hold it in hand). His girlfriend, who visited him the week of thanksgiving, took him a bag full of the clothes he wanted, books, etc. Then, a week later, he asked for some other things (more shoes and clothes). Those, I sent in the BC box. When he saw the box he told me he thought: "I'm so glad BC is over!"
