The big fast food place is Subway. Another popular gift card is to Best Buy. I don't remember any other fast food places, though. It's been too long.

Good morning all! I am looking for some help. My son just went to SC last week so I am not familiar with the area yet. I wanted to get him a couple of gift cards to use. Can anyone tell me what are the fast foods on base (if any). Also, do they go into Goose Creek on weekends at all? If so, whats there? Its hard to figure out what to get him this year! Other suggestions are welcome too!! Thanks!

NancyJo. So sorry to hear about your son`s misfortune. Makes my blood boil that someone would do that to a sailor, don`t they know he has an important job to do. If he contacts his new duty stations ombudsmen, red cross or chaplain they sometimes can help. Although most do not believe it the Navy gets it when uniforms disappear wether in flight or from theif. I hope it all works out.

Auto policies generally don't cover your personal property, other than the vehicle itself. The theft would be covered by his homeowners or renters insurance, if he has any.
That's truly an unfortunate thing to have happen.

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on December 19, 2014 at 1:51am
NancyJo the loss might be covered in his auto ins polocy. He should check. Then at lease he might recop some of the cose of replacement.

Did he report the theft? maybe he can recover some if found. The uniforms cost alot. That story should get on the news so if someone finds his stuff they can turn them in.

Congrats, to your sailors, B'sNukeMom and Mommamac!  Best wishes for those oral exams!  It would be really great if they both got SD, wouldn't it?

NancyJo, so sorry to hear about what happened to your sailor. :-(  That just made me so sad, to think someone would do that.

Happy birthday to my ET!  He is 22 years old today.  He was 7 weeks early, and spent his first Christmas in the NICU.  I still have the little knitted hat and stocking the volunteers made for all the babies there for Christmas.

Well, Christmas concert for the high school girls tonight, and so we are winding down to Christmas vacation.  I am ready for a long winter's nap!  There is so much sickness going around our area right now that some schools have been closing due to illness.  Be well, everyone!

Just spoke to our sailor, he passed his 100% exam and is now preparing for his oral exam. He's looking forward to hearing where he will be stationed next. He's hoping for San Diego but we shall see. I sent him a box for the holidays and the only thing he asked for was my homemade chocolates. Hope he and his roomies(B'snukemom
) son enjoys them. This will be the first Christmas he will not be home and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm so happy that he has his group of friends to share the holiday with.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am passing them on as I get them. He hasn't txted back yet; he's with his dad in Vegas & I'm in NE. I will let you know how it resolves with him. You are all so awesome.

B's Nuke, good luck to your sailor on his orders. I hope he gets SD. To have him that close to home would be too good to be true. On the other hand, he might want the adventure of being away and spreading his wings. He'll know soon!

Just got a text from sailor - he passed his 100% exam and has 3 more watches to stand before his oral boards! WooHoo!

NancyJo - the renters insurance is a good idea - hopefully he had it.  My son has renters through USAA and I know they do cover uniforms.  Williams idea is great too - maybe he can't get everything through the thrift shop but hopefully some of it - that will help with the cost.
