Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 804

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

JinCincy - Yes - We're staying at the Springhill Suites as well!  I think I read somewhere that the Meet & Greet is right across the street - or really nearby the Springhill Suites?  (I don't know- I'm on information overload right now, LOL!)

I think I did read that the Meet & Greet was close as well. And I certainly know what you mean about information overload. So much to take in for us.............hard to imagine the amount of information our SR's are having to digest, process and become proficient at. My SR didn't seem to think it was any worse than what he was expecting though..................he said, and I quote " it's boot camp, it's supposed to suck. At least all the guys in my division are cool."

Just booked our room at the Springhill Suites too :)

That's an awesome idea!! I would love to finally meet you all!! I'm driving up too, but may not be there until 6pm, or so (12 - 12 1/2 hr drive). I'm staying at Navy Lodge. Let's do this!! ;)

I need a phone call!!  UGH!

No kidding!

Just booked our room for PIR at the Springhill Suites. Makes me feel just a little bit better....like the end is in sight! Although it is just the end of this phase *sigh*.

Just reading all of your comments...it warms my heart to see you all talking to each other. Support is the key for the service member but for us as well. I can remember times when I felt very alone...not good. There were no books to read about being separated (there are many now and one literally gave me so much support when Hubby was deployed the second time) and the attitude of "suck it up" was the general one. While that is true in a sense it can invalidate what we are feeling. I think sharing and honesty about how you are feeling  helps you and in turn helps others so they don't feel alone...then we can just all "suck it up" together afterwards LOL.

If memory serves I believe you 800 Division ladies will receive more letters than phone calls...I know, not what you want to hear, but remember sometimes "no news is good news" as far as calls are. Letters are ALWAYS good.

Write, write, write...mail is like gold...a precious commodity!

Has anyone sent a calling card to your recruit? Not sure if it's necessary?

I sent a prepaid phone card with my son when he left. Of course, we still have not received a call :(

We sent a prepaid phone card with our son too, and he said he used it Tuesday when he called. (the only reason we heard from him was he won a call home by winning a quiz) I did read that they have phone cards in the NEX store, so hopefully your son will be able to get one there if needed.

Dang it! Bunch more divisions getting calls today and still nothing for the 804. Happy for them but it is making me really sad too :(
