Hi everyone.  Our son has been in the Navy less than a year and was recently stationed at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.  Kind of a last minute thing--because my husband was able to get the time off of work-- we were going to drive down to Portsmouth from Syracuse and spend Christmas with him.  Our son is arranging a place for us to stay, however he is not sure and has been having a hard time finding out where we might go for a Christmas dinner.  I was hoping there might be someone in this group that has been to the Norfolk/Portsmouth area for Christmas, and can give us some ideas for places to eat and maybe activities we can do while visiting our son. Thanks.

What's the western new York group called on facebook?

ShanesMama, I shared the dogs in case anyone here knows downstate. I know how the Navy Mom network can be, plus relocations for work, etc.

Kim, Yes, I'm in a few different groups on FB & that has helped me immensely. I love these groups & can't imagine going thru this with no technology and the ability to connect with others who understand what you are going thru! Yes, I'm in the Rochester area and we were pretty shocked when we found out we're in the Pittsburgh region. Wish we were closer, I hope she meets some good people who can be there for her. I know that's scary being in a new area where you don't know anyone. Let alone being close to having a baby in a problem pregnancy!  I hope all goes well for her and glad you aren't too far away!
