Hi everyone, I haven't checked in here since Monday.  Lots to read!  Hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas.  Ours has been great.  The MM and ET made it home last Friday, and all the rest of the kiddos have trickled in.  We have enjoyed the noise, fun and laughter.  :-)  The MM bought her first new car!  So, we are currently playing the seven car shuffle, because someone is always parked behind someone else.   :-)

So sorry to hear about your stepdad, B'sNukeMom.   Prayers for your family.

Gretamae, I was lucky that both of mine got into the nuke program together, went to BC together, and apparently get to continue to PT together.  RTC was tough on me, having them both gone at the same time.  It got better when they got their phones back, and were back in my time zone! It hasn't been so bad to have both of them in the Navy. One of my friends has three sailors!  I try not to borrow trouble.  We were joking last night about the stories we will make up about what the ET is doing when he is on a sub: Looking for Coca-Cola drinking polar bears, tagging orcas, looking for the Lost City of Atlantis, etc.

march2013, congrats to your son for being picked up for ELT!  It stands for Engineering Laboratory Technician School.  They are the chemists for the ships/subs.

My sailor told us yesterday that he was picked for the ELT program. I'm not sure what that stands for. I do know it will give him 4 more months in GC.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I spoke to our son yesterday and he said that they were enjoying a dressy Christmas Eve dinner together and then they went to one of their friends parents home for Christmas dinner. I'm so blessed that he has his Navy family.

A Big ol' Navy Nuke Hug to you, Annalee.  The tears never really stop, they just shift around a bit.  After 2.5 years I can pick mine up and drop him off at the airport ok, but show me a picture of a sub - any sub and there go the water works.  The sub thing is very cool.  He just finished his first underway and the stories are amazing!

Thanks gretamae3 (nuke mom). I had no idea I would feel so sad and proud at the same time. I would love to have my little one next to men the bed reading a story together. I know they have to grow up but I sure wish I could have kept them little forever! At least when he gets out of basic I can talk and text him a lot more. I know the next big thing will be when he is on a sub but at least I have a little while until that day comes.

Annalee he will have an INDOC address upon arrival until he starts classes. I am lucky enough to have my son at home and I still get teared up. I think he is getting tired of me constantly hugging him and snapping his picture. As far as it getting easier.... Not for me!!! I am dreading the day he goes on that sub. Then to top it all off .... Tomorrow our recruiter is coming to our home (he is also a family friend). He will be talking to my other son about ROTC. SIGH .,..... Although I'm proud I can't help but get an empty pit in my belly having 2 children in the military.

My son will be graduating basic on 12/31/2014 and head to A School in goose creek in nuke program.
How long before he will have a new address? First Christmas without him and just keep crying. Proud of him but miss him terribly! Does this get easier?

Get this, the letter I sent my sailor-with the SAME address I have always sent other mail/packages was returned to me with "unable to forward". I received it in my mailbox yesterday. Go figure. From now on I am only sending packages with tracking numbers. Hope all is well with everyone!

Merry Christmas to all.

Linda girl I love your picture and so glad that you have your sons at home for the holiday.

Co-twin I am glad that you enjoyed the candle light service. I too am sailor-less this Christmas. My son was invited to someone's house for dinner in charleston, so he is covered for the food. He forgot to go pick up his package that I sent, so he won't have gifts until tomorrow.
