Just got a second call. He was also able to call both of his sisters. All short calls, but we are so thankful for them. He sounded good!

There are 6 actual training weeks, that are counted differently than Bootcamp weeks (which include processing days and the days at the end after BattleStations).  So that can get confusing!

Comment by diannep on January 25, 2015 at 6:41pm

Each division/brother division will be on their own training date....all  should be within about 2-3 days of each other though.

They should be finishing up training week 1 and starting 2 this week....remember, they were in processing days when they arrived and those don't count as part of their training.  Then they have some "down days" between their BattleStations and PIR.  Some have more than others.

Mine said 1-4 yesterday. Which I thought was odd. I thought they would be in week 2 by now.

Does anyone know what DOT they're on? I'm just curious :)

Cindy - Yup, you got it right!

Here are the duties of the MPO (aka RMPO):

Recruit Mail Petty Officers (MPO) (RP03)

The MPO is responsible for pick-up and delivery of all mail. Designation as MPO includes special qualifications at mail orderly orientation and custody of a mail orderly card.

The above is from the RTC website. There are many RPO's. Here is the link to the Recruit Leadership page:
