Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

una anecdota de hoy - No se ustedes mis hermanitas pero yo veo el programa de Despierta America todos los dias cuando me estoy arreglando para venir al trabajo! Pues hoy, revivi mi juventud al ver la presentacion del Reencuentro de Menudo!!! Me puse tan contenta y pues muchos recuerdos se me vinieron al pensamiento de mis dias de niña cuando me volvia loca por Menudo! Wow!!! Mis favoritos eran Charlie y Ricky!!!
Me rio porque me puse a cantar Claridad y Subete a mi moto...creo que mis hijitos estaban pensando que amaneci loca!! jijijiiiii Ay pero que alegria...poder recordar y revivir. Feliz viernes!!! Gracias por dejarme compartir con ustedes :)

Letyrod - si, pues imaginate como estoy...no mas de pensar que mi hija va estar en otro pais y tan lejos! La primera vez que fuimos, una semana despues de ella llego a Norfolk, fuimos manejando yo y mi esposo para dejarle el carro. La ha servido de mucho!! Te digo que la base esta enorme y si no tienes en que moverte, tienes que tomar taxi o andar de raite (pidiendo ride). Nos venimos en avion esa vez. Cuando fuimos en octubre, fuimos y venimos en avion. El vuelo directo a Norfolk desde Chicago es de 2 horas. Salimos de Ohare, pero a ti te conviene salir de Midway. Cuando mi hija llego a Norfolk, se quedaba en el barco a trabajar y dormir. No le gustaba. Despues sometio una aplicacion para housing y lo consiguio en septiembre. Tienen housing fuera de la base, y tienen barracks en la base. El departamento que le toco esta bien y tiene una roommate pero cada quien su cuarto y baño. Comparten la cocina y una sala. Esta a gusto. Solo que de primero habia un problemita con ratonzitos!! Pero ya se arreglo eso. Mi hija tambien tiene 20 años...y si como dices tu, van a tener muchas historias y aventuras para contarle a sus hijitos cuando los tengan.
oh y esta vez que vayamos en marzo, primeramente Dios, vamos a ir en avion y regresar en el carro. Espero llegar y quedarnos en el Navy Lodge hotel. ESta cerca de la base.

Leach73-como lla sabes yo estoy aqui en Chicago. Mi hija y esposo lla quieren hacer planes para ir a Virginia. Bueno Leach73-gracias por cualquier information que me puedas dar.

Leach73-Mi hijo va estar en el barco USS Truman. El va para aviation mechanic y segun el schedule del barco en fall 2015 va estar en deployment por unos meses.Cuando me dijo mi hijo quise asta llorar.Pero a el no le dije eso. Nada mas le dije, que iva tener grandes aventura y historias que algun dia le podra contar a sus hijos..El apenas tiene 20yrs. Y tu hija esta en base o barco? .Cuando vas a verla vas manejando o por avion. Lla ves

Yoanka - la llamada no tiene un tiempo especifico. Segun la division y el RDC quien es el que toma esa decision. Mi primer llamada de mi hija solo fue de 17 minutos y parece que fue un minuto. Milagro que me pude aguantar las lagrimas por que al oirla y saber que ella si estaba soltando lagrimas...me partio el alma pero pronto le di palabras de animo para levantarle el animo. Mas que nada ella extrañaba estar en casa...estaba homesick. So te aconsejo que no te despegues de tu telefono!! Si te va llamar al celular...llevatela hasta cuando vayas al excusado! La segunda llamada me llego de repente un miercoles por la tarde y esa nomas fue 4 minutos y creo la ultima de 11 minutos. Muy breves pero cada vez se oia en mejor estado de animos. Y tambien en las cartas que me mandaba me contaba mucho mas.

Letyrod - mi Sailor esta en Norfolk desde mayo. Hemos ido 2 veces a verla y vamos a ir otra vez mas en marzo. Sabes a donde va estar asignado tu hijo? a cual barco? La base es grandisima!
