We are adopting both of these ships and they are carrying the 24th MEU.  If you have some pillowcases made please let me know!

Although we did the USS New York in Dec 2009 (thank you Ally for heading up the delivery of the pcs)

they had not deployed at that time.  Now, they are deployed with a Marine unit on board so we will do them again.  And there probably aren't many on the ship that were there in 2009.

Helen,

Thank you for the pillow case that you made, I love it and was super happy when I got it. I don’t know how many you made but we received a bag of them and everyone on the ship loved them. Thank you soooo much.

Got this email on 2-26 from our POC:

Sue,

The first wave of pillow cases was received yesterday.  I thought I would let you know they are going like hot cakes and the Sailors are so excited when they come to the office and pick their pillow case out.  I am hearing comments like, “This one is so pretty”; “This is awesome”; “How many can I have”.  This is an absolute blessing.  Thank you for doing this.  I am keeping the mailing slips so we can send ‘Thank You’ notes.

Very Respectfully,

Guy

Am I still doing the Command Pcs for the New York? Will need that info by mid-March

Lyn

yes, that would be great Lyn.  We won't be doing the NY until April, quite possibly late April.

I will work on getting that to you.

I adjusted the mailing dates for wave 3 by a couple of days.  It is now 3-9 thru 3-11.

The USS New York begins on Saturday, 4-25.  If you have some pillowcases made, please let me know!

Sandy B,

I just wanted to thank you and all the volunteers do so much for all the service members all over the world. I am a recent recipient of one of the pillow cases made and I am extremely grateful and appreciate your thoughts of those who are currently deployed away from family.

A GRATEFUL PITTSBURGH STEELERS FAN.

R/S  Staff Sergeant  Steven M USMC CLB 24 24th MEU   USS IWO JIMA (LHD-7)

We need 394 pillowcases to complete the USS New York in 2 waves!  Do you have any made that you can send in wave 2?
