N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I'm not for sure we already booked our room and we booked until Sunday. Mine is headed to A school in Pensacola also. Wish I could tell you something more!

I'm getting plane tickets and want to make sure I'm doing this the right way. I know there is no way to know for sure but if my SR is going to A school in Pensacola should I stay Saturday or does she not have that kind of time to see us ?

My son was able to call Saturday, Bless him he is sick with a cold. He said everyone has it.  The old Ricky Crud!I really was surprised to get a call he just left Feb 18th. We have gotten the Box the Letter and now a call. But April still seems so far away!!

Hello Friends!

"He gives strength to the weary and

increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,

      and the young stumble and fall;

But those who hope in the Lord

      will renew their strength.

      They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint."

Hi DREW7062,

Welcome to Navy for Moms!

I see your blank "pic" is listed as a member of this PIR group. You just put the mouse cursor on one of the one's without a real pic (on the right column) and your name shows up.

No, you don't need to be on FB at all.  Just stay here to get all your questions answered~~

To turn off the Email notifications, go up to Settings on the upper left of this page, then go to Email, you can unclick all the notices OR just scroll to the bottom and click the one that says to turn off ALL emails from Navy for Moms.  Be sure to click SAVE at the bottom to make sure your change takes effect~~

You were able to post on this page, so you are fine with writing up a Comment on the Comment Wall, then clicking on Add Comment.  So you are doing just fine!

The Peanut Butter shot is the Penicillin one to help with upping their immunities. I'm not sure what else they get, but there are so many people they come in contact with from all over the world, the vaccinations are to protect them.

A dentist evaluates every SR and if there is any chance that wisdom teeth could become a future problem during deployment, then they are removed.  They are given 2 days rest in their beds to recover and are watched over very carefully.  The SRs really relish the rest and it does not impact their training at all.

Be sure to try to scroll back to wherever you last read on this group to read up on what was already asked and answered.  It's a good practice so you can keep on learning.  Also, be sure to read the subjects on the PAGES section on the upper right.  They are all clickable links where you just click on the words to get onto that page. The one "What ARE They Doing in Boot Camp? Synopsis and Day-By-Day..."  has video links on it so you can see exactly what your SR will be going through.  Hope i've helped you a litlle with your questions~~  :)

Help I'm not compiter literate and don't really know how to look around on the computer my son USED to help me but he's at bootcamp now. I miss my baby. I got the box and the form letter and have been looking to see what he's doing everyday. Does anyone know what the PEANUT BUTTER SHOT IS and what other shots will he get. Does every sailer get their wisdom teeth pulled?

I have received several messages from members of this PIR group asking about the facebook groups and some have joined one or more of the Navy PIR groups on facebook. Some of you may not have realized there is more than one. I am an admin in the original facbook groups and we have been helping families like you for 4 years. There are more and more groups popping up on facebook and we have no idea how safe they are so no matter what groups you join always be safe and smart. Follow OPSEC and don't share too much personal info. That applies to closed groups as well or anywhere online. Also be sure to stay on this site, there are people here who don't do facebook and you want to get to know them as well :)

Here is the link for the original groups for your PIR https://www.facebook.com/groups/944519572232368/

Send me a friend request on this site with your facebook name, and your recruits ship and DIV and I will get you added quickly Thanks :)

Mommamaggiex4 anyone age 3 and over must be on the list to get into PIR. 2 and under don't need to be on the list.

Comment by Mommamaggiex4 on March 2, 2015 at 1:53pm
I know its here somewhere...and I know we've been over it again and again...BUT does the 4 tickets for the PIR include those under 11? I'm reading more and more conflicting things. My parents are staying on base, so if my children get kicked out last minute, they can go with them, but I just want some confirmation...
