N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Haven't received a call since the 8th... So wanting to hear from her!!
Anyone else from Ship 12-Div 109 experiencing the same thing?

I know, "no news is good news". But still...

From my experience, they won't let him fail...now mind you, my experience is 23 years in the Army, but when it comes to recruits, if there is nothing physically wtong, it is the job of the drill to do everything to motivate your SR to pass.

For family members who are not able to attend  PIR, are they still able to get into RTC? Is there a place to watch the PIR within RTC?

Thank you, thank you for the kind words. I'm dying to talk the him but i know no news is good news. In his last letter he said that "he has his eye on the 13th". but he also said that failed his PFA. he was very close missed pushup by 5 and situps by 2. Wow it breaks my heart that he is so close and worked so hard not to make it.

UncleEarlMom,

Congrats on your SR losing 40 lbs to get into Navy Boot Camp!!  Hopefully his working out on running, sit-ups, and push-ups will kick in and get him through the Physical Fitness Assessments (PFA),  The first 2 are practices to see where he is at.  It is the 3rd and final one that he must pass!  Also, the air in Chicago is a little thinner, I believe, so he has to get used to that.  With his working out, he should have an edge on the others who have not worked out at all~~  Praying for him!  I believe today's scripture is perfect for him too~~

QuinnSRlove,

The main road that everyone lines up on to get into RTC is Burkley Road.  This goes to the RTC gate and if you stay to the left of the line of cars waiting to turn right into RTC, go straight and it should curve then you will be at the train station.  Do a safe turnaround, come back and make and easy left turn into the RTC gate~~  I'm not looking at any map, but hope that helps you~~

Hello Friends!

     "He gives strength to the weary and

      increases the power of the weak.

      Even youths grow tired and weary,

      and the young stumble and fall;

      But those who hope in the Lord

      will renew their strength.

      They will soar on wings like eagles;

      they will run and not grow weary,

      they will walk and not be faint."

                                   Isaiah 40:29-31

UncleEarlMom...oh how I hate hearing this. My heart goes out to you and your SR. All you can do at this point is give positive encouragement and keep in mind it will only last a few weeks. Sounds like your SR put a lot into this.
Comment by UncleEarlMom on March 2, 2015 at 2:17pm
Thank you for all of the information. My SR is having a hard time at BC. He lose about 40lb to get into the Navy and had been working out for 6 month prior to leaving for RTC. But that wasn't enough to prepare him for BC. He's a strong young man and he wants this so bad. And I prey that he makes it.
Comment by QuinnSRlove on March 2, 2015 at 12:45pm
Oh I do! Question: i was looking at the map for PIR that I found. Sarge's directions? Going down 137 at the ohio intersection, if you go straight through the light is that to the train station or is that directly to base and the parking garage?
