N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank You diannep!

Hi TLHNavyWife! Yes, I knew about the Battle Stations, but what I wasn't sure was when that is. I was thinking it would be at the beginning of next week. So if he said March 6th, then it will be this week? Going from my SR's last letters, I thought they would still be learning the firefighting until tomorrow. I am so excited too! I hope he gets to call.

Navy Mom jjen:  This PIR group will start Battlestations for some divisions on Thurs night, with calls Fri afternoon.  The remainder of the group will have theirs starting next week.  There will be none on Fri or Sat nights since there never are.  Occasionally they have them on Sun nights, but not often.  This group should be full of "sailors" by early to mid week next week!

We are also staying at Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Waukegan. Hope to meet you there HerProudMomma.

diannep, When will battlestations be? Will it be the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I read where TLHNavywife was saying about getting the special call on March 6th and you said she was correct. What call would that be?

Comment by HerProudMomma on March 3, 2015 at 2:53pm
We are staying at Holiday Inn Express.

Anyone else?

The shuttle service is either the local service (which you sign up for at the hotels) or Sarge's service which you can sign up for by texting/calling him at 847 212 0246 or email:

johnspadaro@att.net

Or sign up at his MeetandGreet.  Prices are the same, I believe....both are taxi services operating at a shuttle rate for PIR.

Comment by diannep on March 3, 2015 at 2:38pm

Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn and Holiday Inn Express are all about 4-5 miles from RTC...10 min drive---very close to Sarge's MeetandGreet,  Even if renting a car, if you decide you want a shuttle for PIR, sign up for it at Sarge's MeetandGreet.  I believe he charges $3/pp each way (sailor returns with you for free as long as not a sailor staying in GL for A School....those sailors transfer over there shortly after PIR and you pick them up later in the day over there).  We rented a car but took the shuttle to/from PIR....had no issues with that.  But the drive is no big deal either....our hint for those driving is to stay to the left on Buckley (car line on your right) and bypass RTC.  Turn around at the train station right past there and head to RTC from opposite direction.  Easy and fast left turn onto RTC then.  No wait!  We have had confirmation from others that this worked very well for them!

TLHNavyWife:  You are correct in your assumption on the nature of the call!  :-)

Comment by Navy⚓️Mom⚓️jjen on March 3, 2015 at 2:12pm

Hi NavyMom260, I think it's about 3 or 4 miles away. I think.  As far as getting there, I'm not sure. We will check out the area once we get there,  but my plan as of now is to take the shuttle. We have been to Chicago a few times and my husband has been there a lot, but not in this area. We are so excited too!
