My son is graduating power school March 20 and is also looking for a room mate in Goose Creek.

Happy Wednesday!

Britefuture - somehow I feel that you won't let anything stop you from getting to proto grad!  I don't think mother nature has anything on you right now - you go girl.  And just in case I will send some of our CA sunshine your way (we're supposed to be 80* by the weekend!).  Prayers for safe travels for you!

1proudmama - yikes!  I hope no one was injured.  Yep my sailor says it's so different with the snow in VA than it was in NY.  There it wasn't a big deal since they had the infrastructure to deal with it.  VA not so much....trust me, he was hoping to leave it all behind too!

Funny picture PattiP!  (well maybe not since it's true LOL!)

Hope everyone stays safe (& warm).

KimberlyDi NY Nuke, OMG, what is wrong with me, I teared up by your post.  And I'm not even the crying type.

Anyway, rest assured that your son wasn't the only one who didn't have anybody there to hug him.  When my son PIR'd, there were quite a few and they hung out together it seemed.  I saw one guy that looked a little lost so I went over to talk to him, for a couple of minutes, congratulated him for making it through boot camp and all that.

Britefuture - I missed my son's PIR because of the 2013 great polar vortex.  I managed to watch some of the proceedings online but bawled at the end when everyone got to hug their sailor.  And mine was alone.

Comment by britefuture on March 4, 2015 at 7:51am

Oops, that was suppose to be, "Mother Nature". Where was auto correct that time.

Comment by britefuture on March 4, 2015 at 7:49am

Ugh, this weather is making FLA and SoCal look wonderful for early retirement. I went to my son's PIR and our plane landed in the beginning of what became of a blizzard. I missed his PS graduation because of a Noreaster that blanketed the east coast with a foot+ of snow. Now, they are calling for another snow storm that starts tomorrow and the northern part of MD, where I live, is expecting up to 10 inches. When am I leaving for Proto graduation, you may ask? TOMORROW! Well.......as frustrating as this is, I will be going to this graduation if I have to buy a pair of skiis. Lol! My Sailor expressed that he needs his Momma and, frankly, I need my boy. This has been such a roller coaster, as you all know and understand. I will not miss this opportunity to see my Sailor, mother mature. Do you hear me?

XO

LOL Otter... When my son was 5 we tried to get a meal at a resort, Were told it was for guests only. When I told the family this he piped up and said, "Well lets get a room, spend the night, party down."  LOL what 5 year old knows that!! smarty pants.

For those with sailors up in Balston Spa might want to check in on them. My sailor just got home its snowing and switched to freezing rain on his way home. He saw 5 cars go off the road. Hoping everyone is ok and all our sailors are safe. When will this winter end! 62 tomorrow with a drastic cold front coming in thursday with more snow for us here in virginia. B -  I think Norfolk will be spared this time. We've gotten our 2 biggest snow amounts since your boy came to Virginia, he was suppose to leave that behind in N.Y Stay safe everyone I know a lot of the country is getting hit with bad weather. Gasp even rain in California! lol
