N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

nurse and mom of a navy sailor:  No worries!  Some of them are in "push" divisions which means they have to get it all done in less time.  But no problem!  They get it done.  Remember, there are actually only 6 training weeks....the rest of the time is processing days and some "down days" between BattleStations and PIR.  They get it done!

Good Morning!

I am not sure if I am just thinking too much but I am confused. My son is in Div 144 ship 12 and his letter stated that he will graduate 4/10/15. He arrived there very late on 2/17. When I count the weeks, he will be there a TOTAL of 7 weeks and 4 days. I know they have P days in the beginning as well. So how is he getting the 8 weeks required that they say BC is? Can someone clarify so my head doesnt explode. Where are his P days?If they were in the beginning for a few days then he will have even less training. It is possible for him to actually graduate if its not the full 8 weeks? Thanks for your help

Hi Texans13! My son is in 137 and also married. I might have been the one as I wrote in a letter everyone I had come across that was in the same division. He thinks I'm a Facebook stalker! His wife might have, but I'm usually the one on this site so I doubt it. I'm glad to hear they have become friends. I'll have to let my daughter-in-law know about you. I didn't know names, just that a wife had wrote about her husband and they were from Texas :)
