Instead of just telling you about what your son or daughter will be experiencing at BC, Chief Arlene Maier will be your guide through this behind-the-scenes peak at Great Lakes. She’s actually an RDC at Boot Camp – a mom of three herself – and she’ll show you where your Sailor will be sleeping, eating, and training.

This video is part of a series to acclimate you to the many different areas of the Navy. We hope it helps you feel more informed about the Boot Camp experience and we encourage you to share it with your Sailor so they can get a preview of what’s to come!

This is a good video. My son is leaving to BC in less than 2 weeks, so its good to see a glimpse of what boot camp is about. Still concerned as a mom...

great video!  Was good for my younger sons to watch so they know what big brother is doing at basic.

Thanks for putting it together!  Oh, and btw, the 2-3 minute phone call is actually a 15-30 SECOND scripted call. Be prepared for it to be short and simple. lol

Well I see I am the only one posting to this video in awhile.........very informative and thank you for the info......although I am having a tough part about the 2-3 minute phone call about him getting there safely because I am always working but the wait for the "next call in about 3 weeks" has me stressing just thinking about it! 36 days counting until BC. :/

This video was so helpful to knowing what my child has done and will be doing. The not being able to talk to him and knowing what is going on is what has been borthing me the most. Thank you!
