OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

CatMom had a wonderful stay there for her daughter's PIR, Tessal.  I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Diannep do you know what street the Holiday Inn is on?
Comment by diannep on March 5, 2015 at 8:25am

For those still deciding where to stay for PIR, here are the hotels recommended by others in previous PIR groups:

Navy Lodge (book in your SR's name if you do not have your own military ID), about a mile from RTC, good rates

Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence Inn, and Holiday Inn Express, all close to each other near a large Walmart center with restaurants nearby.  About 4-5 miles from RTC.  Close to Sarge's MeetandGreet.  Call these hotels directly and ask for the Navy Grad discount.  Compare this with other discounts you may have (i.e., AAA, etc).

Do not wait on booking your hotel as some book up pretty quickly.  You can cancel if necessary with no penalty usually up to the day of arrival.

Good Morning!

Good Morning.  Has anyone received a phone call from their SR in division 135-136 yet?

I know my baby gal is tough, but I also know this experience is testing her.  It helps to know she absolutely loves her Division 921!

Don't forget SR gals are going through Boot Camp too~~  :)

I got a 50 minute call on Sunday what a treat to hear my son.

Hope all the guys that had their wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday will be rested and ready for bootcamp tomorrow morning.
