Along for the Ride - we laughed at his description of a 5 hour watch - "4 1/2 hours of boredom & 30 minutes of extreme terror!" He had a sense of humor ;-)

Room moves - This is pure speculation, but I heard there was a huge influx of new students in Jan-Feb (current students waiting 3-4 weeks to class up) so it's entirely possible that they didn't have enough A school rooms available, and placed some of them temporarily in the Petty Officer rooms for Power School students.

When my son started Power School, he got 4 room assignments in the first 2 weeks. When he kinda grumbled about the last move, they asked him why he was complaining about getting a private room - he shut up.

Anyone else catch the Navy Nuke on Jeopardy! tonight?

My sailor got noticebtoday that he had to move to a new room across base. He said they are moving all of the EMs and putting Petty Officers in their rooms. He is not too fond of his new room. It's much smaller and not near as nic .

All this awful weather makes me feel so bad for you all.  The weather here in Nevada is dry, crisp and a cool 50 degrees.  I think if I was a Mom trying to make it to graduation somewhere I would be a total wreck.  My heart goes out to all of you that are traveling and for the Nukes who have to drive back and forth to Prototype in this weather.  Hugs to you all.

I just want to put a special prayer request out for my son. He has A-school comps on Monday so he is studying like a fool these next few days.  I'm so looking forward to congratulating my new PO3 Electronics Technician soon!

BTW...have any of you heard about them moving Sailors around to a different barracks on base?  My son mentioned that a lot of his shipmates are getting moved to another building and he was hoping he wouldn't have to move too. He mentioned something about the other rooms were smaller and had smaller furniture.  He also mentioned that they were going to group classes together in those barracks like putting PS students in one area etc.  Just curious if anyone else has heard anything and if your Sailor has moved recently, what does he think about his new space?

Looks like our unseasonal spectacular weather should continue at least through Monday Johanna - your timing is good.  Hope you're able to make it to Shi-Shi.

I guess the big question to you William is that over or under your thermals?

Comment by Johanna on March 5, 2015 at 5:18pm
Nice William, I am almost to Seattle for a week of hiking the Olympic Coast with my youngest squid...;)) I am beyond excited!!!
