Jean,

So sorry you didn't get the other job but I agree with you - another one is out there - - the Lord will lead you to it!!  So happy this looser job is over!!  Enjoy your trip to Oregon.  Another week and we'll be in Oregon!!!!  And enjoy your Aurora time!!!  (Daughter too, of course!!!)

Lovey1020,

My granddaughter goes through missing her daddy while he's on deployment.  He and her mom made a calendar for the months he will be gone with pictures for her to color, places to mark in what she did while he's gone and then of course she gets to x out each day getting closer to when he comes home.  Add in some stickers and it's something she looks forward to filling out each evening.  Also son read one of her favorite bedtime books so she gets it out every night and momma plays the recording and she reads along with daddy!! Hope all the wonderful ideas you got will help him through her absense!!!

8isenuff,

Does your daughter's (and son's) time count while they are in training?  My daughter owes the Navy back 6 years but none of her time counts until she gets finished with training.  She's been in since 2007 - spent the first two years finishing her degree (part of her Navy program she went in on) then 12 weeks of OCS and has been in flight training since 2009 and now being on medical hold she still is not technically finished with training!!  She has one more check ride she'll have to do as soon as she gets cleared medically!!!  THEN her six years starts counting down.  She figures by then she'll have 15 years under her belt!!!!!!!!

Catsmom,

Not much longer and you'll be soaking up the sun on the P'cola beach!!!!  See if you can catch pictures of the sting rays as they play in the surf!!!  I could never catch them quick enough!!!!

We're in Ft Bragg, CA.  Two more stops in CA - Fortuna and Crescent City and then we head into Oregon.  Cold, cloudy and wet here but no real rain - heavy fog tho!!!!

lovey1020, my grandson Aidan was 2 when Chrissy joined. Her ex-husband got custody but I babysat a lot. And I took Aidan on the trip to PIR. When he woke up in the motel the day after PIR he said " I saw Mama, Mama is nice." Bringing him back to California was very emotional.  When I baby sat , I showed him pictures of her , talked about her alot. She called him often and they Skyped. She made DVDs of her self reading books to him.  We told him she w sin the Navy fighting the bad guys. He liked that. Aidan is 8 years old now, Very happy, smart and well -adjusted kid.  He lives with his father and step-mother in Sacramento. Chrissy has visitation.
