lilo54 glad you are getting to meet up with your sailor. You are in my neck of the country, we live NW of Richmond. It is terribly cold here for this time of year, and the big 10K is going on downtown so traffic will be a nightmare in that area. Lots of great history in richmond just don't try and see it in the morning during race.

BNukesmom thanks for the well wishes and your heatwave sounds wonderful some areas around me are seeing snow showers. It was 78 Thursday no wonder I'm sick. blah

so sorry to hear about not da mama. his posts always made me smile.

Boywondermom hugs to you and hope you hear some good news soon.

Enjoyed seeing all the pictures over on facebook of the prototype graduation on the Yorktown. Where does NY have theirs at? Is it always same place?

Dittersmom- glad your sailor is settling in and furnishing his apartment.

Dinky - congratulations to your sailor passing his orals

B'nukes - thank you so much for the info on Not da Mama. I always loved reading his posts and he has and will be missed.

Boy wonder - still praying.

Sailor son bought a mattress for his apartment.
He found a roommate and they moved yesterday. Since the mattress won't be delivered until tomorrow he also bought a blow up mattress for tonight. I told him good planning. He would have a place to sleep when I come visit and use his bed, lol.

Not Da Mama was a dear man and such a special part of this group. He was here in my early days and I will always remember his happy face in his photos. I am so sad at his passing. B'sNuke, thank you for going to the effort to find out about him. He and his family are in my prayers.

Hello all!  Congrats to the new graduates this week!  We have had a great time with my son while he's been here.  He DID pass his driving test and is so happy to have his license now. He plans on buying a car when he gets back to GC while he is on T-track.  He mentioned that one of the chiefs there is going to help him with finding the right one and give him advice.  That makes this Mom a little less apprehensive about the whole thing.  I'm so proud of him! He sure has changed so much, even since he came home at Christmas time.  This leave has been very nice and I can tell that he is way less stressed than when he came home during the holidays.  We have really enjoyed him being here and I just LOVE seeing him in his NWUs each morning as he prepared to go work at the recruiter's office.  I'm feeling a little down since he is just about to leave again to go back to GC.  He is hanging with his buddies and I'm OK with that, but now that it is getting close to him leaving again, I am feeling a bit selfish.  I have to work when his plane leaves so I'm a bit sad about that but hopefully we will have a chance to get our "See Ya Laters" in one way or another.

Joniana...THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to get a pic of my Sailor with his clarinet.  It warms my heart to see him following his dreams both in the Navy and musically.  I think the musical aspect really helps keep him grounded when he is stressed out.

CO-twin...CONGRATS on the 4.0!  I knew you were going to rock it in your schooling!  Sure wish I lived closer so that I could take all those delicious treats off of your hands.

Prayers going up for all of the Sailors taking tests and preparing for orals and comps and for those starting PS this week too.  I'm excited about the next step in our Sailor's journey towards PS.  As he always says, "Challenge Accepted!"

Oceanslayer - if my memory serves me correctly the dash for cash is their PFA at the end of A school.  When they pass that they get their "crows" & become a Petty Officer 3rd class. (right?!)

BoyWonderMom - keep us updated when you hear about his re-board.  We're all praying for him!
