N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi!

Welcome to Navy for Moms!!

My Sailor Daughter's PIR was March 2013--can't believe how fast time has flown!.  She is an IT3 (Information Systems Technician, Petty Officer Third Class). I primarily provide scriptural encouragement for the PIR groups, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and a few of the other groups that I am a member of.  I'll also help out with anything that I am familiar with--all kinds of tidbits I learned during my daughter's Boot Camp experience~~  This site really made the time go much faster.  I'm so thankful that my Sailor daughter sent me the link for this awesome group of friends when she enlisted!!  Count 9 Fridays and before you know it, you'll be seeing your baby again at PIR!!  Here we go!!!

FTKW - thanks for the site.  My son shipped 3/17, and I'm "guessing" he is 5/15, but I haven't received the form letter yet.

Hello emilys and welcome,

My SR has been there 13 days and I received the letter yesterday. I wanted a hotel with a pool for other son traveling with me and a place that was near all shopping and the Sarge's Meet and Greet Thurs. night. I chose Holiday Inn Express but there are tons of hotels all around. Admins advise us to wait for "form letter" as this is official date of grad. There are so many variables on when the letter gets to you. Either way its best to wait for your letter and then you can also start sending letters with correct address to your SR.

I was so relieved when I received form letter yesterday and booked hotel right away. I was hoping to book Residence inn but they are booked 5/15 already. Chose Holiday Inn Express instead. Has anyone else started travel plans yet?

Thanks FTLW for starting this group.  I am still having some trouble maneuvering around these groups and pages.  Is this were we might see pictures of our family members ?
