N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

LB,

Hope your SR is keeping up on his protein because he will need the energy for all they have him doing at Boot Camp~~

Letters are mailed out every Monday, except if it's a federal holiday, then it will go out on Tuesday. Most of your letters should be arriving on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so you can lay off stalking mail carriers early in the week--LOL!!

Good Day!

Mine said Saturday that letters would go out this week, so we should be getting them sometime this week.

Does anyone know when they will be able to send out letters? When I talked to my sailor Saturday he didn't know when.

peanut butter is a staple at Bootcamp.  :-)  Ask your SRs about it!  It comes in little packets....

I'm still laughing about your son's fatty food comment, LB. My son was pretty lean when he went in so I hope he's being smart, but not losing any more weight!

Oddly, we didn't talk about the food AT ALL.

My son did say he's keeping track of time based on meals though. And hash marks.

The guys in 02/926 know exactly what day it is and how many more days they have until they get their phones back.

:) :) :)

Yes! Lots of positive thoughts all around!

Comment by LB on March 30, 2015 at 12:36pm
Also I just realized that the past few days of Navy4moms notifications have been going to my spam folder! :(
Comment by LB on March 30, 2015 at 12:34pm
I did get my call at 4:30 Sunday. It was so wonderful to hear his strong, determined voice! Biggest complaint was the food, said it was too fatty and that he is trying to eat more fruit and salad -- he hates salad, haha. Said he's trying to lose a little weight. I wish I had his willpower! Today is 2-1 for 926, so personal inspections start. Please send them positive thoughts!
