Good morning all, thank you for the birthday wishes.

I met my new sailor son-in-law Aaron last year before they got married. when Chrissy brought him to California on her leave. It was a lunch in Sacramento and I had to share them with my Mom. That was Jan. 2014, they got engaged shortly after that.

Anna, You didn't miss anything. It was my husbands uncle who was very sick. He died about a month ago. It was just a service for people who were living out of the state. Portland is a very hard place to park a truck and trailer. So I would not recommend stopping there. It was hard enough to find parking with a car. From Lynnwood to Portland is about 3 1/2 hours away. So if you come into Washington and get close to Seattle, let me know. Out side of Portland, in Vancouver there is a fantastic restaurant. It is called the Crab Shack. You'll have to be hungry for that place though. If you come up from I-5 you should go see Mt. St. Helen's. It really has changed.

Vicky, you didn't let us know. Happy Birthday.

Vickyrun,

Congratulations for you to have some time to spend with your daughter!!!  Small but very positive moves in improving your relationship with her!!!  Will this be the first time you meet your new son-in-law???  Hope the party goes well and is fun for all!!  Let us know how it all goes!!!  And Happy Birthday!!  Have a wonderful day!!!!

Jean,

Did I miss something?  A funeral?  Was it family?  Glad to hear you had a nice trip to Oregon!!  Love the pictures!!  We will be going through Portland but I don't know if we'll get a chance to stop anywhere. We will be staying in the Mt Hood village on the other side of Portland.  Not sure how far away that is.

It's so hard on my hubby when he has to pull off the highway with the big truck and trailer.  He's always so afraid he's going to get stuck somewhere.  So far I've been 100% successful finding an exit where we can park truck and trailer and walk to a nearby place for lunch but he still is so reluctant to just stop and explore when we go through someplace interesting!!!  Hope he begins to relax and worry less a little bit!!!  Once we park we do go off and explore - yesterday we took a 2 hour hike with an elevation change of 125 feet - UP!!!!  Unfortunately I wore a nice sized blister in the back of my heel of my right foot.  I need to find a easy way to break in new hiking boots!!!!!! Today I did some wine tasting and bought a local bottle of wine!!

8isenuff,

That's good that the training your sailors take counts towards their enlistment time.  Don't know if it's different for Jenn because she is aviation or if that's the way officer's orders are written.  At least she has job security - - - sort of!!  Still not sure what the medical situation will present in the future!!

Catsmom,

I hope you get this message before you leave tomorrow and HAVE A SAFE TRIP!!!!  Enjoy your time with your girl and get in an extra hug from me!!!!!  Hope your weather is nice in Pensacola!!!!

Blondie,

Glad the wedding plans are on track!!!  So many details at the last minute still!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!!!!

Good morning all, Chrissy is going on her 2nd deployment sometime after her leave. But I am trying not to think about that and just enjoy her when she is here. She doesn't stay with me anymore, but I should see her twice; for her sister's party and then a lunch with just me, her and her husband. Today is my birthday, she sent me a gift and a card. But I really want the hugs! Those are the best!

Good Morning to Everyone

Catsmom, I wish the Crab Shack was closer. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us. So when we go to Oregon it will be one of my have to stops.

Vicky, I'll be there counting down with you. Get all the hugs you can before; she leaves. They keep us going.

Got to babysit again last night so Christina could go to school. I am so glad she is trying to finish up her degree too. It is hard to go to school and have a little one at home.

Very one Be safe and enjoy the day. The weekend it near.

Hi everyone.

Jean Love the pictures! Sorry about the funeral, but happy you had a good time otherwise.
We have the Crab shak here too. It was one of my Brothers favorite.

Blondie, why does it always have to brake so you can't fix it...Eerrr. Hope your warm weather sticks around!

Vickyrun, Yay, Enjoy that hug when you get it!

1 more day and we will be flying to see Crystal! She called today and said " it is almost Wednsday
," She is excited too. LOL
