While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on March 31, 2015 at 10:17pm: Had a 3 hour interview. Nice chef from The Yucatan. Right now they have no pastry chef and buy everything from elsewhere. He wants to bring me in and if it works out add on a pastry kitchen and I would become the Head Pastry Chef. Pretty neat if he is for real. The place is an awesome place. Part imported cheeses, part imported foodie stuff, plates, towels, tea, cookbooks etc... part bistro. It is huge and very busy. I found it hard to believe they are serving frozen pastries.

Does anyone recall their sailor getting a long weekend here or there during Power School? He did get a four day weekend liberty "break" back in February where he could leave (had to stay within liberty radius). Just wondering if there is a possibility this will happen again so I could plan a visit. I don't want to get my hopes up if it is highly unlikely. Thanks for your help!

He got his ship assignment a week plus ago. He was happy with his assignment.

Another dog story. Her other favorite past time is to retrieve things. I was throwing freesbie one day and she gets distracted starts rolling around on ground. Then she picks up something and starts running towards me with something in her mouth. I look and realize it is a snake! I am petrified of snakes. I go running with her chasing me with dead snake in her mouth. My husband said I never ran so fast or screamed so loud And he never laughed so hard. Darn Labador Retrievers!

I had told him earlier that it only takes a minute or two to text, "I'm ok, just busy". On another note, how do you keep from gaining weight with all the yummy baked goods you're making?

I'm glad to see some new names on here and seeing the various stages of nuke school. And so appreciate those that have made it thru this step and encourage us through our journey.

Cerise - your sailor sounds like he is at the same place as my son. Congratulations!

NancyJo I had to scroll on my phone for ever to see what everyone was congratulating on. Woohoo on the pregnancy, how exciting.

B"Nukeson my lab would have been in that water after those ducks in a heartbeat. My neighbor has an inground pool, she goes swimming all the time. Luckily we are good friends and she puts up with my animals. She will even go all the way under for dive sticks. She is a trip.

Cotwin - I sympathize with your waiting to hear news. And as always woohoo on your culinary adventures.
