N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you diannep for replying to SMAs mom's question. I guess i could have given my question more detail.

Also, on the uniforms, those staying in GL for A School will wear their Whites on PIR Day, and I believe they wear their Khaki uniform during the other 2 days.  They will be told what to do when they move over there.  Either way, they ARE in uniform all weekend.

SMAs mom:  I believe the centerpiece they are talking about is for Sarge's MeetandGreet?  But not sure....people make baskets sometimes to auction off at Sarge's MeetandGreet to help him offset some of his costs to put on the MeetandGreet (free to you all, and includes dinner).

Comment by ellen0502 on April 19, 2015 at 12:31pm

SMAs mom. I don't know about the centerpiece as that is something the individual PIR groups handle.

As for staying in uniform...yes, your Sailor must be in uniform while on Liberty PIR weekend. If they will be swimming they must still be in Navy issued swimwear. They can change into to something different while in the hotel room, but cannot step out of the room if not in uniform (not even to go get ice).

My son actually stepped out of view from the hall when the door the hotel room was opened, and he had just removed his jumper (top). No chance anyone would see him out of uniform. He didn't want to take off his trousers though as the dress blues (yours will be in white) still have the 13 buttons. LOL

Hello everyone,

DIV 185, did anyone volunteer to make our divisions centerpiece? If not, I would like to make the centerpiece. If so, I would like to assist in any way possible. I'm trying to keep busy for sanity reasons.
