N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lovells is a great place to take the new sailors.  It is a bit pricey, but your sailor eats for free, it is a nice (yes, make reservations for this), food is good.  It is owned by the astronaut Jim Lovell.

Comment by BrownEyedMomma on April 18, 2015 at 4:25pm

No calls here yet but so far every time it was 7pm Est or later. So I'm still waiting.  I'm on call for work this week and have to spend most of today on the computer so I will be watching the clock.

Will do let all know, I've already emailed Sarge, just waiting for his response. Has anyone gotten calls today?
Comment by BrownEyedMomma on April 18, 2015 at 4:08pm

@MamaBear: If you get any good tips from Sarge let me know.  I won't be flying in until late Thursday so I will miss out on that.

Comment by BrownEyedMomma on April 18, 2015 at 4:06pm

Hmm... The best restaurant question is a good one.  Do you think it would be best to call ahead and make reservations?  Anyone know the best steak place in the area.  My daughter is a carnivore through and through and I know she will be craving a big slab of beef medium rare!

On the clothing topic, I was originally planning to wear a dress but thought a nice pants suit could be more comfortable.

MamaBear/Brittanysmom:  Sarge may be able to give you info on that.  Are you going to his MeetandGreet?  You can also email him and ask him about that:  johnspadaro@att.net

He has lived in the area for a very long time!
