Heads at Ease has mailed wave 2 to the ship and we are done.

We mailed 626 to the NY in wave 1!  We need 394 pillowcases to complete the USS New York in 2 waves!  Do you have any made that you can send in wave 2?

Thank you to Brenda for your donation of shipping $.  It really helps!

We are starting the NY on 4-25 and will mail until we are done.

If you sew, have fabric, would like to donate for the shipping please let me know.  We can always use help as HAE is totally funded by donations.  Thanks!

HAE is planning to begin mailing to the ship in May.  If any or you sew and would like to help, we would love it!  NOT a sewer?

We can use donations of fabric and/or $ for shipping and fabric.

Thanks!

Hello to all!

It has been awhile since I have written on here.  I am happy to say that Heads at Ease pillowcase project has been in contact with the ship and we have committed to mailing the entire ship, plus the Marines, pillowcases while they are deployed this year.

It looks like mid March to April before we will begin, as we are mailing to the USS Comstock this month, then the USS Iwo Jima and then the NY.

If you would like to help with the sewing, fabric donations or shipping $ donations, let me know.

Thanks!  Sue

Nancy, I will have plenty of questions later this year. Thank you! It's nice to know we have someone to turn to with experience on this ship.

Welcome, JosnRissa'smom!  My name is Lynn and my son joined the crew of the New York in July.  So your son will be assigned to the NY as well?  They are out to sea currently--they left recently--did your son complete his in processing so he could join them, or will he wait until the ship returns?  Unfortunately, this particular forum doesn't have too many postings.  I recently joined a Facebook page you may find helpful--Navy Mom's of Mayport.  It's a closed group so you have to request permission to join, but there are some other helpful NY mom's on there, and I have gotten quite a lot of good information for their upcoming deployment.  You must be proud of your son!  This whole experience has been crazy for me, and I'm sure you feel the same!
