OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Momack,

You have a 50/50 chance of getting a call this weekend or any day of the week.... The calls are really unpredictable, so just be ready all the time, keeping your phone charged and ring tone turned up!! I keep my cell phone on my nightstand at night as my hubby and I have received early morning calls from our Sailor daughter~~

diannep and Cat, There have been some site issues in the last 24 hours, not sure what is going on, but possibly some coding changes or quick fixes by Ning.

I had to do some changes to a page through the html editor because the "here you can see it" :) wasn't working. LOL Trust me my HTML skills leave a lot to be desired.

Good Day!

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that you may prove what is good and acceptable

and the perfect will of God."

I just got my call!!! Ship 11 Div 205!! He sounds SO good!!! It's so great to hear his voice and know he's ok!! He passed his swim qualification and has to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed... but he says lots of guys do. I'm a happy mom!!

Thank you so much for the heads up I just got the call he's struggling so I used lots of words of encouragement and told him one week down seven to go good to hear his voice and try to keep it as positive as I could but knowing in his voice that this is not easy He is reading his daily devotions every day which hasn't been opened in years so that's a good thing. Hope you all get a call soon
