I understand they will be in VA end of November beginning of December some time!! And although I do not speak to my Sailor that often we do text ALOT!! he is right now on a 45 day restriction due to underage drinking! :( and we will not be communicating for awhile.. I am beyond excided about him being stateside. I understand anyone undes will remain with the ship.
So jealous! You all seem to have some kind of contact. We went to Japan over Xmas but could not get any kind of info regarding orders or assignments. Haven't heard from my son since until received email late last night he will "try" to call on Friday. That usually means not. He blames time difference too.
He told us last September he was going to Lemoore this September after the hull swap but have heard nothing on that since. Please tell me we aren't the only ones who get no information? Does anyone know when they will pull into VA? We keep asking because we too want to see the sight and greet our returning sailor.
taptap22 - it's a good stress! lol As far as I'm concerned that ship can't get to the U.S. fast enough!
I would LOVE to surprise my son and be in VA when the ship comes in! I actually FB mssg w/ my son several times a week but I can count on 1 hand the phone calls we have received in the past 2 years. Will be wonderful to hear his voice more often!! Hope I'm not the only mom stressed about this transition to the states - lol
I was told the same thing about San Diego.. Was going to try to go BUT not going to waste my $$ will go all out in Va..
Activity on here!!! Thanks for coming out of the woodwork ladies LOL!!!
Nice to see there are others that will be staying with the ship to Virginia.
Does anyone have any info on San Diego? I told my son I am definitely going to one coast or the other to see him but he told me not to make plans for San Diego because he's been told no one gets any leave time and there's no sense in going out there if we can't even spend any time with him. In his words "San Diego ain't a port visit, mom!" I'm keeping my fingers crossed though. But if San Diego doesn't work out I will be in Virginia!!! Oh the joy of being able to pick up the phone and call him instead of waiting for him to call!!!!
where is he headed Kimberly??
YEs my concern as well! these boys can make us crazy!
djk's Mom...my son will be remaining w/ the GW in VA also! He's been w/ the GW since Fall 2013 and excited to be coming back to the states! I'm concerned that he doesn't have orders yet and he needs to pack everything to have it shipped back to US.
