My boyfriend, soon to be husband, leaves on May 5th, 2015. I wondered if anyone is leaving for boot around the same time. I remember a lot of the process when his brother went two years ago, but this time it will be my husband leaving me. I would love to find people who will be going through this at the same time.

Anne, You are the 4th family to have a SR leaving that day, that I know of.

That's awesome!

Yup, my son leaves that day too from Phoenix

My son MAY be going May 5th.  We've been hearing May 12th to Detroit then May 13th (my son's 21st birthday) to GL - until recently.  Now they asked him if he'd have a problem leaving on May 5th.  of course he said "no" but, so far, we haven't heard anything different and mama's still planning on May 12th.

My son leaves on May 5th too.  Getting so excited for him.

One week to go ladies! I am having lots of anxiety. Anyone else? This week is jam packed with dinners and people to see. My son is procrastinating going through all his clothes and other stuff in his room that needs to be packed up. Uggh. I have lots of spontaneous outbursts of tears. We had a party for him Saturday and that was great. I think he really enjoyed it. What all is on your agenda with your SR this week?

Rhonda,

This weekend will by my future sailors 2nd party with family and this week is going by so fast and so much to do.  Procrastinating is an understatement for my future sailor packing up their things. :-).  I backed off and came home and it was done.  No tears yet for me as I don't want to upset my future sailor but trust me they are ready to be released.  I have a little anxiety but I think I am surpressing it right now.

Agenda this week is visiting family, a couple dinners, and then just some mom and dad time after the festivities on Saturday....

Hi Rhonda. Had a luncheon for my SR Sunday. Saturday the Frat brothers are coming over too.  His bed is loaded with clothes.  I hope he doesn't think that I am taking them all with me for PIR weekend.  LOL.

My only saving grace is that I know he will be stateside for 1 yr, so I feel he will be safe and somewhat accessible.  If I think too long about not seeing him every day, I do get emotional. I don't let him see it.  Can't promise that at the swearing in.

His older cousin gave him a Challenge coin from is own division when he was in Viet Nam, kind of like SWCC.  Even the cousin was getting emotional.

So, hopefully we can all meet up at Sarge's Meet and Greet and cry with one another at PIR.  Good luck to everybody's SR.  God Bless!!!

Mine will be stateside for 1-2 years also. I too get some comfort in this. Maybe it will ease me into that deployment separation. Downside is he has 6 years of active duty.

Same here Rhonda, 6 yrs.active.

I have someone leaving for BC May 5th, 2015

Well mommas....the day is upon us. Boys go to MEPS today and fly out Tue. I kissed my son on the forehead after he got in bed, knowing it would prob be the last time I do that. I think part of me feels like if I just stay up, the morning won't come. Hugs to you all.
