Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 165 - 166

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I hope they have already created a friendship, it helps when they feel completely isolated.

Jessicalulu85 and mecanfly, my son is right there in the frustration department and used the exact wording Bad News Bears, he said "They won't SHUT UP at lights out!", but has said since then the Division is finally coming around as a whole. He also said that a couple of the recruits have gone to him and have asked for help in marching...there's hope. I haven't received a call from him since March 26 though I do receive weekly letters. His letters seemed like things were going good but were real short and not very detailed. I don't know what the Marlinspike is or the Captain's Cup, maybe you can fill me in... hopefully BS will go good for our SR's/ Division and am looking forward to "I'm a sailor" call... all their hard work paying off. Mecanfly congrats on your sons design, I'm anxious to see the final work on the Division Flag :)     My husband and I will be attending the Meet and Greet, hopefully we'll see you both there.

Dori,  I really do hope all of them succeed with all the hard work they have been doing.  I just did the RSVP for my in-laws and myself so hopefully we will see you all there!

Aloha Dori!

This is the week of the Captain's Cup, it will/should occur on Saturday, April 25:  https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand?fref=ts

Congratulations to this week’s winners of Captain’s Cup!

Div. 158 took top honors in the non-integrated divisions while Div. 924 triumphed in the integrated divisions.

Captain’s Cup is a fun, friendly athletic event held on the Saturday before graduation. The divisions that are set to graduate later in the week get a free morning to kick back and enjoy some fun competition between the divisions in their training group. It’s like recess for recruits.

Events include basketball, volleyball, relay races, tug-of-war, sit-ups, push-ups and more. There is a winning division for the non-integrated (all-male) divisions, and one winning division in the integrated (male/female) divisions.

Each winning division receives a traveling trophy to display in their ship as well as a Captain’s Cup flag that they will carry and display during graduation.

Captain’s Cup gives the recruits the opportunity to display their athleticism they have built up during boot camp.

The OFFICIAL RTC site posts the results on the Monday/Tuesday on their FB site.  As for the Marlinspike, it's what they learn pre-Battlestations (BS-21) which is the main test to ensure that our sailors know what they need to do on Ships/Submarines (at least the necessary stuff before their rating training).  My son recently wrote that he is headed to SC for the rating which he hoped for: ET.  Are any of your loved ones going to SC and happen to be an ET as well?

I'm excited for Sarge's Meet and Greet and hope to get to meet you two there as well as others.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to go to the RTC site and check it out! I'm anxious to find out how they did. My son is heading to San Antonio after PIR for MA training.

My husband is also going to San Antonio after PIR.

Will any of you ladies let me know when the PIR calls start or when your receive your call?? I will post if I get one before an answer.

Thanks!

Will do!  Are you on FB as well?  There are 3 groups for our PIR. Since they rather have us use first names, I go by Kanoilani.  I'm anticipating that it will be today, here's hoping.  I'd wish they won the Captain's Cup, oh well.  I'm looking forward to hearing all about the BC experience in just four days! *crossing fingers!*

Yes I am.  What are the pages for the PIR on FB.  I know I wish they had done great at the Captain's Cup too.

I'll do the same.

When you go to FB, in the search window, put in PIR 05-01-15, they are closed groups (and for good reason) so you would most likely have to PM to get in.  It's a great group of loved ones that have shared the rollercoaster ride of our SRs being in BC, but it was amazing when they all posted when they got the "I'm a Sailor" call from the SRs, I'm thinking that you all would like to be a part of that FB celebration as well.

My son just called, all of Division 166 passed!!!! Congrats mom's :)
We have Sailors!!!!
